As being one of maybe 20 or so Slough Supporters ..and reading the report ..

The game proved to be a good work out and not a bad performance, it gave some good run outs for some of the fringe players and great to see Simon Sweeny back ! I was also told Chesham had 4 non first team players but were squad members too...

The game was played at a good competitive level , with lots of good football by both sides ...

Slough competed quite well, but fell away in the last 10-15 mins .. however while it was 2 -1 we missed 2 golden opportunities to level the score ! with The chesham keeper making 2 good saves with his feet ! The Chesham 3rd goal was at the death was a penalty..where even the Chesham Directors stating the first tackle was out of the box and their player ended up in the box , where by the referee awarded a penalty .. so all in all we gave it a good go ... and for a Berks & Bucks match was quite entertaining.

Back to the league for us Saturday and onwards and upwards ...

Special Mention ... Chesham Please clean up your ground next time ! Bottles and beer cans all over the place on the Terracing

it looked a mess !

COYR ....

Yes lovely to see Simon back and thought Ollie looked good as well. A mess is putting it mildly I have never before seen beer cans and can you believe GLASS BOTTLES just laying on the ground behind the goal areas. When we commented about the glass bottles to the one of the Chesham guys on the way out he said Aylesbury Grammer School had played there the night before. All I can say is they are going to have a serious load of under age alcoholics in Aylesbury!! No comments please Ian !!!

Agreed with Chris, a good workout and a reasonable performance against a tough Chesham side. The pressure was always going to tell but at least we gave them a decent game, especially by scoring first. Had that great chance to level it up at the end before the penalty but unfortunately it wasn't to be.

AND we got to see a passback actually given against the Chesham keeper on the edge of the 6-yard area, certainly a rare sight in football now. Unfortunately the opportunity was not taken by us though as both shots were blocked.

Special mention must go to Sam Bateman for a pretty good performance out on the right side of the midfield (despite what his dad seemed to think of his game!) as he put in a few good crosses. Also good to see Simon Sweeney back in the team as well as Burgess.

We were unlucky last, but time now to focus on the league and get back to winning ways. COYR!
