Blimey GD has Smudge rubbed off on you. Of course people want to see Guernsey lose as that is the English way. Most sides cant wait for Windsor or Guildford slip up either !!!

 

This in a nutshell. All part of the brainwashing that the British media go in for. For too many years, the media and public have built people and teams up only to knock them down at the first opportunity. Look at what the media did to Ian Botham. The same can be said for the success that has come the way of Man Utd and Chelsea to name two. The media are currently creaming themselves with regard to Man City. Just wait and see how they will treat them AFTER they win a Premier League title.

 

The key GD is to rise above it. No one likes a winner in this country.

 

I agree with you people have built us up then all layed into us now we have lost at home. We will learn from all of this i'm sure and we will come back fighting hopefully with a win away at Egham on Tuesday night in the Premier Cup.

I never laid into Guernsey F.C. at all G.D.I LOVE GUERNSEY.You will find though in your learning curve in Non League Football, that booing or baiting Refs at games is counter productive.They are human after all.Well some are!!!!So our friendship is over,very dissappointed in that,but I WILL MOVE ON.UP THE SPORTS!!!!!!!!

 

Like i've said before that is the first time in my knowledge that a referee has been booed off a pitch in Guernsey, thats how bad he was. I'm just saying what hundreds of others are thinking.

So GD your top of the table, on to win the title and have lost your third game of the season.

How many clubs would like that? All I guess.

With regard to officials performance, we can all at times recall bad decissions and according to one post you get better/more senior officials at your games. Not sure why this should be, if true but then you are Guernsey! I've seen this before with the CCL.

Don't let a few daft comments ruin your love for your team or the great support you offer them. It is sad to see officials booed off a pitch or indeed your opponents when you loose.

Overall I think some may have seen your entry to the league as being another AFC Wimbledon. On results you are but publicity for other clubs is minimal and you don't bring a big away gate as Wimbledon did. So theres not a lot to gain from your club being in the league other than getting up at 05.30 to fly to a game and getting beat.

So pick yourself up and look to the future- What is it six back to back home games 8 out of 10 home games- something like that and no fixtures over Christmas or new year. No one else had these given to them.

I am over the moon that Eversley inflicted your first defeat at Footes Lane this season, and personally I don't care how they won!! Time for a reality check for GFC - I also predict that you will lose on Tuesday at Egham....look forward to hearing what excuses you will come up with then?!

 

Eversley are a good footballing team with good players and experienced managers and coaches. I saw the game where you beat them 2-1 earlier in the season and you didn't deserve to win that game! I think you are doing Eversley an injustice, they came over with a plan and it worked.....why can't you accept that you were simply beaten by the better team in the day.

Hey Chubby you forgot to mention all the coverage they get on the CCL site, more than any other single club in both divisions. The CCL couldn't do more for them. No wonder some clubs voted against them joining, they don't offer a great deal. Maybe duty free on your travels I guess!!

Any neutrals able to give their view on the referee's performance in this game?

 

For starters, I've noticed this inconsistency with the reports:

Then he had the audacity to add on only 6 minutes ! It should have been double that !

 

GFC official match report:

 

And nerves became increasingly frayed when Fish bizarrely added on nearly seven minutes to the

allotted 90, despite there being no injuries or stoppages of note to speak of.

mew that report that GD posted up was from a different game!

 

This game had 6 minutes and indeed it could have been more than that but it's hard to complain about that as you find with most games that have a few long injuries there never ends up as much time being added on as should have been. There were 2 long injuries in the second half, one where one of the Eversley players got stretchered off and another where the keeper was down for a long time. There were also a few minor injuries requiring the physio and I think all 6 subs made individually.

 

I'm not neutral and I would agree that the referee wasn't very good, I was baffled by a lot of decisions including some that went for Guernsey though certainly a lot more that went the other way.

 

I was however in a great position to see the penalty that we won and I'd say it probably shouldn't have been a penalty.

 

 

Overall though and importantly GFC didn't play all that well, didn't play the ball around as well as usual, especially in the first half and weren't as clinical when attacking either with Ross wasting a couple of times. Big credit to Eversley also who played a good game, threatened quite a bit in the first half (a little in the second) and deserved their victory. Hopefully as a GFC fan this game will ensure that the players don't become complacent and understand they can't just turn up at Footes lane and expect to stroll to an easy 3 points.
