Play-Off Place ? -what a load of rubbish chat

Increasing chat around the club and optimism re: a play-off place.

 

whilst i remain concerned that the infrastructure/may not be in place to support a reasonable BSS campaign-and trips to the likes of dorchester nad weston;have to admit we are now in contention.

That given-what use is a play-off place-bit of a lottery and one in four chance of getting through-and then the last thing you want is a failed first season in the bss and come back down again.

 

Equally to reach the play-offs and lose out can damage you for the following season;so in my world-no disaster if we don't make play-offs (this season anyway).

 

HOWEVER-why settle for play-offs- ?

Forget the play-offs-CERTAINTY is what is required-so if we are going to do it at all this season-do it properly and now win the league outright.

 

Should we forget all talk about play-off places-and in fact be seriously going for top spot and definate promotion.

 

When CK won the doc martins to get us into the conference-i think we only lost one game in second half of season.

It can be done- (only 10 points behind with the leaders still to play )

 

Lets not now go for /talk about a play-off spot-simply win the league outright (and don't try and win the league-just do it-trying gets you nowhere-just actually do it

So lets win this league.

During the 2000/01 promotion season (Southern League Premier winners) we played 22 league games from 1.1.01 through to 5.5.01.

 

The record was...

 

Won 16

Drew 4

Lost 2

 

...the second of those losses was at Burton on the last day after promotion had already been secured.

 

Inlcuded a run of 8 straight wins, a 13 match unbeaten run and a run of 7 Michael's (games without conceding).

The play offs are great if your the weakest team of the four like we was a few years back but agree your buzzing at the moment and could well win the league. How things have changed for our clubs over the last 4/5 years.
