We did everything but score in that second half, it was just not our day. We did not play that badly and had enough chances to win it but it wasn't to be. we need to take that as a positive experience and move on. Aylesbury took their luck and we got none.

I do think we need to give Burgess a chance, he looked much brighter than Herron when he came on. We also need to sort this extra forward player as I do not think Abbey is the kind of impact sub we need in situations like today.

We and the team need to move on and recover with some points on the board over the next couple of games. Yes its hard to see past St Neots at the moment but we must be positive and keep going. COYR!!!

With the wind as it was I'm not sure why we persisted with attacks down the flanks? I would have thought a more direct approach through the middle and a few long shots at the keeper would have given us more.

We have to get used to teams massively upping their game when they play us. You only had to see the reaction at their second goal and the final whistle to understand what it means for teams to beat us. We've got to be able to cope with that.

On this point,Ian,I agree.

We do not have enough shots at goal and do miss a player who strikes the ball cleanly eg a Mark Hawthorne or a Gary Donnellan.Actually Adam Logie strikes a ball well but Bateman moans at him when he goes forward[when he gets a game] and Adam Martin can hit a sweet shot but with Paul Coyne/Stuart Swift seemingly the only ones allowed to shoot we miss out.

I also think at times we are obsessed with going down the flanks,to put over a cross, when it would be far better,at times to be direct and to go through the middle. The trouble often with this is that many players lack the confidence to attack through the middle and so usually pass the ball out wide to avoid responsibility.

It's about time a result went against you when you havn't played well.Think you been getting away with it so far. Long overdue from a St Neots point of view.. Still a long way to go yet but a great day all round for us.. Nice too see you got back to playing against ten men again

In the second half we hit the woodwork twice. They almost scored an own goal. There keeper made two great saves. Sincs and burnell missed good chances and we had two goalmouth scrambles.

On another day we woul have won 4-1. Definitely not the end of the world and st Neots will drop points as will we most probably.

Let's keep our heads and move on to Chertsey and three points.

Elephants ar#e and banjo spring to mind.

Some real good chances to score, especially Sean Sonners in the first half and Alex Brown's header with both chances only having to be on target to score.

But it wasn't to be our day and we need to be positive and move on if we want to win the league.

The windy conditions were not in our favour today which made the match a bit of a lottery.

Credit to Aylesbury, they dug in and got the result of the season so far.

Long way to got with a lots of twists and turns to come.

COYR!!

Nice mind games Ian.. you not Fergie in disguise are you :)

Not mind games at all. St Neots have the players to walk this league and if they don't they've massively under-achieved. If you check back I've been saying it for a long while.

without doubt we waste not only clear cut chances but also opportunites to create good chances by not gettin the final ball right. gotta be as clinical as possible to make sure these games get won

lets not be too negative though we still in with a great chance of taking the title though we must keep results like this to a minimum. looking like St Neots and Bedworth away we are going to have to go all out for wins in

Yes promotion is the goal. Obviously winning the league would be great. However, individuals don't win you any league, its a good squad that does that and right now we have 15-16 players that will play their part in the run in. A couple of cheeky additions to the squad, including Ben Mackey (that mobile target man that your after) have helped boost the group. 6 goals in 5 starts, the lad is quality!

Unfortunately we cannot afford to attract high profile players like Ben Mackey within our budget.

I would suggest as we were discussing on the coach that if sb needs a player to cover why not look for a loanee from a contact such as Brian McDermott or Steve Thompson.
