V aylesbury

I know we hit the post twice, but I felt we were very poor throughout. We did the same things, only this time we got caught out.

Several times I asked myself who had the ten men. Aylesbury would win loose balls around their box, and when they broke they had us on the ropes.

I thought Burnell, Sonner, Herron & Martin had particularly poor games, but no one player was to blame.

I think Hotspur's summary is a slight over-reaction, but this result does mean that we are no longer the front-runners in the title-race.

I think my video will show their manager in a less-than-favourable light after their second-goal!

The lesdon today is: don't be afraid to change things around!

Of late, we've not been playing particularly well or creating a host of chances. Today we created enough chances to win three games and were punished for one moment of sloppy play in midfield when they scored. Thereafter they defended and hit on the counter attack.

Very frustrating.

It's only a blip.

Good news Chalfont St Peter beat Bedworth 2-0.Two goals by that man Charlie Strutton.Unfortunately St Neots won 2-0 but we're still top of the league, just, and we shouldn't be panicking yet.

Still 15 games to go and a lot of twists and turns still to come, we will slip up again but so will St Neots!

I do think that after the dust settles from today, we could well see that elusive 4th striker join us before Chertsey next Saturday, we haven't needed him to date but now it's getting tighter and tighter, one substitution could be the difference between a loss and a draw, and that could turn out to be very very important!

Keep going boys, 3 points next Saturday and start another run of picking up the clean sheets and the all important points!

Both today and the Burnham game showed why we will not win the league.

Bateman is a good manager, but is not shrewed enough to win this league as this has been identified in games where on paper we are the stronger team. He fails to get the team motivated and put out a team in a formation to pick up the points.

There were a number of players today and in the last couple of games who have taken their foot off the gas and think they have got all the points needed and are beliving Bateman's and their own hype - sorry boys today you were beaten by a team far weaker - time to pull your fingers out and remember there are 42 games in season.

The supporters turn up for games - pity that not all the players do!

Jesus. Burger & Chips and Hotspur calm down. Still top of the league, no one wins it in January. I don't think there was really much more that could have been done to attempt to win the game.

Sonner's miss in the first half was criminal, he should have scored and from then on it went downhill. I think the fact we missed both NBH and Swift was key too, both should be back on Saturday proving midweeks game doesn't get moved again. In addition the sooner Murphy is back fit we should see some more speed in the attack as it's particularly one paced at the moment.

Yep ... Not the best of displays ..however on chances alone we missed a few sitters ... and paid a heavy price in the end !

With Aylesbury running in 2 nil winners, and Slough looking a bit disjointed at times and some poor finishing that really did not

help our caused today ... Lets draw a line under this and move on .... seamed to be similar game that we play away to Chalfont ,

where by the opposition won their game with a shear determined effort and some luck for sure !

Come on rebels ... together we can over come this disappointment and move forward !

With the wind as it was I'm not sure why we persisted with attacks down the flanks? I would have thought a more direct approach through the middle and a few long shots at the keeper would have given us more.

We have to get used to teams massively upping their game when they play us. You only had to see the reaction at their second goal and the final whistle to understand what it means for teams to beat us. We've got to be able to cope with that.
