Tonights council meeting.

'There could be dancing in the streets of Espoo tonight (well skating anyway )

 

Particularly pleased for Keith Piper-probably taken 10 years off him as a result of that vote.

He should get the Freedom of Margate, and a Knighthood (any truth in the rumour that Mr Piper promised to run naked around the pitch with a cigar in his mouth when this finally got approved ).

 

So how long before TDC Cabinet actually puts pen to paper-not quite a done deal until ink is dry .

 

One assumes that there is no nonsense such as it needs at least a one third winning majority,as opposed to a simple most vote wins

Went to TDC meeting tonight and best i can say is i was "educated" into the way our council works(or not).We had to wait 2 hours whilst they discussed whether they ammended the budget to include planting flowers.When it came to what was us the serious end of the night and finally discussed the ground developement it appeared whilst nearly all supported it they still had to refer back to the cabinet who had already agreed it ????.Had to admit whilst i have never met the guy and through what i'd heard was an ogre thought sandy "eck" was more switched on than most and appeared to have his full support.Here's hoping only one more meeting/committe to get pass

Would be interested in the "against" and the "abstains" as most if not all of the councillors I have spoken to indicated that this was uppermost on their agendas to push through - I know all politicians lie but would love to know who to slate on my front door step next election.....

Though I was not there Danny, I believe the Pilot spoke against after, saying that he supported it at the previouse meeting.

It now goes to Cabinet again for final confirmation. It went to Full Council because it wanted Council to have its say.
