Croydon Athletic quit Isthmian League

Why will Aveley get reprieved because of Croydon Athletic going out of business? How exactly does that work?

Aveley (or anyone else in the Ryman/Southern/Northern Premier) might only get a reprieve from relegation if a club at a HIGHER level goes bust - ie Darlington, Kettering or Northwich, all of whom have various problems at the moment.

Croydon Athletic going bust will only result in one less club in Division One South getting relegated at the end of the season. When it comes to promotion & relegation - the FA will consider that Croydon Athletic finished bottom of the league.

Steve,will you fck off.

If you want to have a pop at me do it by pm or better still come down to the fckng ground and have a word.

It was a sarcastic comment because they got reprieved last year, they are local rivals and it was tongue in cheek.

As for the "east thurrock thread scenario" if the FA website stated the game had been cancelled and other key facts on their website, such as dates etc were right in the first place then people like myself wouldn't jump to the wrong conclusion, now p1ss off as i really don't have time for jumped up little muppets today.I am trying to work out where to spend the next two days Birdwatching!

Rob - Did you get the fulmar that flew over the Grimsby ground just before the kick off? It was heading north and came over the away end then flew along just below the floodlights and then over the stand at the other end.

Rob - Did you see the eagle owl on the top of the lopped tree about 200 yards past the roundabout as you walk towards the Grimsby ground? I do not have a camera otherwise I would have taken a photo of it. I have a camera on the mobile phone but don't know how to use it.

You also might have missed the two large colonies of jackdaws and rooks along the A46.

Little egret flew across at the Brewery yesterday - it was chasing gull and in turn another gull was chasing the egret.

Firstly daggsy,i was nowhere near the A46 as we got the train, although i did have plenty to buzzards, pheasants and possible grey partridge, although i will not put them on my list as i wasn't 100% sure because of distance and the train was doing 100mph

Didn't get fulmar, was having trouble finding the football at 3pm.

I know you were not on the A46 - that's why I mentioned the jackdaws and rooks.

Re-the owl - yes, there really was one. As you walked along the road towards the ground, there was a tree that had been lopped to a height of about 15 feet - and a very large owl was carved out from the stump of the tree - it was very impressive.

Surprisingly - no buzzards at all on the A1 / A46.

And don't forget there's a Cap Lge match tomorrow (v Potters Bar).

I did not sample the fish and chips as they did not have any on sale at McDonalds.
