Ref Off Ref – You see where I’m coming from don’t you, even though talented youngsters these days, like your boy, have opportunities to play football at a semi-pro level that was beyond our wildest dreams at their age they would still rather lay in bed till all hours at weekends or sit glued to their play stations.

Rhodes exaggerating! Granted yes the big boys in the premiership do seem to admire money before football (but i do not generalise and understand its not all of them!). But not every player is after just money at teams like Dunstable and Royston. Because rumours go round saying there is 'apparently' money flying about does not mean it changes the mentality of ALL the players!

I don't know about that cos I wasnt there (neither were you) both guys seem to be knowledgeable and supportive fathers who perhaps realise that there are other important things to focus on like education and a sustaiable career that will allow them to support their own families. Both lads are talented an play for a love of the game who seem keen as mustard poor Tom Kennard has missed many games tgrough no faukt of his own and i bet he would have been dying to play, and who's to say that as they are both young still that they won't go on higher up the pyramid if they so desire. There are a lot of distractions more so now than ever but I would say its still the age old reason that stops guys playing "the mrs". I wonder what would happen if blokes turned round and said "no more shopping for you at the weekend"? To their partners. I can't argue that the attitudes of players has changed though. Enlighten me as to when and where you played the "beautiful game" then Rhodes? I quit at 20 because I had a choice to make career wise I loved playing and have played now and again but I had a choice soccer scholarship to the states as it wasn't happening for me here or choose to do what I did which meant having to give up regular football which when it's all said and done at this level and to an extent the next step or two up is a passion and a hobby and not the be all and end all.

I agree with Keeps, you know Fvck all about my lad.

True injuries have held him back but he's more than happy playing the level he plays with his mates, he's never asked for money to play coz that's not his motive.

And as for dragging out his pit kicking and screaming he's up at 6 every morning off to the gym for a couple of hours before he starts work, true it's a programme he does to help build up his shoulders and so to avoid further injury.....now refer him to that of a lazy cvnt Rhodes.

I wonder why on earth Haringey Borough bothered to apply

 

Because some sides have the foresight to realise that once inspected and passed it holds for 3 years. Of course if yu dont pass you know what you failed on and have time to do it rather than trying to rush it this year and it costing you like Guildford in the CCL last year.

Krooner - Point taken but it's not that Haringey Borough are ever going to win the SSML Premier Division is it unless they are handed promotion to the Ryman League through a restructuring route

Played against Haringey this year, to be fair not a bad outfit, and not that far off those teams at the top of the league if I am honest!

 

Few more players they could push for it in years to come, just don't be bitter Rhodes!
