former no 9
Well the two big games for Royston and Ampthill are this Saturday!! Thoughts on scorelines and how far these two teams could possibly go? I hope both teams do well. I predict a win for Royston and at least a draw for Ampthill. I'ts all on the day mate, one thing for sure, Craig Bicknell will have the Ampthill boys up for the challenge. I personally can't wait for the game. Good luck to both teams. Winslow Boy
Well the two big games for Royston and Ampthill are this Saturday!! Thoughts on scorelines and how far these two teams could possibly go? Royston have great chance to keep going and could be their last year in it so I'm predicting semis for them. Then who knows. Ampthil are a good side who know how to win are in good form and will stand up to anyone on their day, from the little I hear of Oadby they sound like a step 4 or step 3 side to me so it's a tough draw. I'm going to say Ampthill will earn a draw and replay and again who knows

bicknell
All i will say is we have done every little thing possible to prepare for this game . And we have all next week to work a bit more . We will be at full strength . And I no about 80 fans maybe alot more will be traveling down we could never be more ready . Just the small matter of selecting the right squad lol . Plenty of sleepless nights this week for me
ref off ref
Think Royston will make last 16. Our one I think is harder to call, but with a massive wage bill that Oadby have with the players they've pulled in especially for a competition like this then I think they've put pressure on themselves. They'll have an expectant crowd and if Swansea v Arsenal earlier was anything to go by then just stand up to them and give it your best shot.....one thing Craig and Ampthill have is a belief, but whatever the outcome we've done better than expected so let's just go out and enjoy the day. Having not seen Oadby play I won't disrespect them by saying we are going to win, but if we play to our potential then we are more than a match for most on our day..... rtfc
I think Royston could go very close if they play to their potential like I have seen this season. Ampthill however I think will be too much for them. Fingers crossed I'm wrong though...

The Watchfull Listener
Bournemouth (currently 9th in the Wessex County League) have been watched twice and with Royston squad travelling down Friday afternoon all preperation for the game that can be done would have been done. Down on paper it is a decent draw for Royston but its an all on the day one off cup game and any outcome is posssible but it seems they could be at full strength with no current injuries on suspensions to pose problems, selecting the right team is obviously important. Good luck to Ampthill , I often think it is better to go into these games as 'underdogs'. No expectation and no pressure can sometimes be a strength and I am sure Craig and team will give all. petethegreek
I predict that Royston Town will progress to the next round. I have officiated them twice in August and was impressed by them. Although they looked a little unorganized in defense on those two occasions they have since sharpened up at the back. Their midfield is very hard working while they have strength and skill up front. Ampthill Town is a harder one to call. Oadby Town will start favourites especially with home advantage. Although I have not seen Ampthill Town this season they will be up for it and I'm sure Mr Bicknell would have done his homework on his opponents. I will go for a draw in this one with an Ampthill Town win in the replay.
Rhodes
with Royston squad travelling down Friday afternoon all preperation for the game that can be done would have been done. That must be costing the Club a pretty penny with a hired coach and over night hotel, hopefully the meticulous preperation will pay off

Munchkin
I have a feeling Ampthill will win a close game 2-1. No doubt Oadby look a good team, but in Coulter, McKenzie, Nicholls and Taylor, Ampthill have one of the stongest attacking group of players in the SSMFL and I think they will get them through. Royston to get through 3-0. Good luck to both teams.
