BBC Surrey Sport

Look at their front page now - http://news.bbc.co.u...rey/default.stm

Reports on Crawley Town (Sussex), Aldershot Town (Hampshire) and AFC Wimbledon (London).

The only Surrey side they sometimes mention on Twitter is Woking. I don't think they're even aware that Staines is in Surrey now as they never get mentioned. They'd rather send a reporter to Farnborough FC (Hampshire).

Wouldn't it be nice if they did what their name suggests and reported on sport actually in Surrey? Either that or change their name to reflect the area they cover.

Their Twitter account for pleasant reminders about us lot who are in the county is @BBCSurreySport ( https://twitter.com/.../BBCSurreySport)

Rant over.

Interesting. I turned BBC Surrey on today on my way home as it said BBC Surrey keeping Surrey on the move and prompty told me there were engineering works between Hastings and Ashford International Terminal.

Yep thanks that kept me on the move.

Station is a waste of time. Understand they have even ditched their studio in Guildford.

It was the Guildford City tweeter who got me started on this subject so they can take the credit for starting the #ActuallyInSurrey thing. There have been a few clubs join in.

I've sent the station a tweet reminding them that South Park are playing in the last 32 of the FA Vase next week so deserve some coverage. We'll see if that has any effect although I doubt they'd send someone up to Whitley Bay. Maybe they can team up with BBC Newcastle who do live commentary from some Whitley Bay games and even sponsor their player of the year trophy.

We spoke with Tim Durrans the sports editor of BBC Radio Surrey yesterday and they are hoping to have a reporter from the North East give live match reports into their sports programme next Saturday. They will also be doing a feature on their website and will be speaking to members of oue committe, management team and players for this.

Blimey! Gotta give them some credit.

Reply regarding South Park from Johnny Cantor ( https://twitter.com/...!/johnnycburger ) "Thanks we already have a reporter booked to go."

Might as well say it now - good luck Park!

Have to agree with the above posts ,aldershot, crawley ,farnborough and woking are the darlings of local football and stuff the rest i was regular listener of the station but got very frustrated with lack of coverage of local clubs ,when godalming town were having a good cup run they got some air time then, as city did after winning at tonbridge angels last season but thats seems to be the only time they highlight the smaller clubs when they are doing well in a national competition.

If you want to read about Whyteleafe F.C., I can recommend the CROYDON Advertiser.

There aren't counties in postal addresses. They were phased out when postcodes were introduced in the 1950s and finally declared as 'former postal counties' in 1996.

Official postal addresses rarely have the county in them anymore. They aren't needed.

V.P.C.T.F.C. Would like to challenge your suggestion that Royal Mail.only use postcodes to sort the Mail.Do they no longer sort to Surrey,Middlesex,Kent,Sussex,FRAMES AND BOXES.

AUpostie come on mate please clarify, the suspense is killing me ......lol !
