Town 2 Wingate & F 0

Recommended Posts

A first half penalty from Richard Halle and a second half header from ' goal machine' Rob Swaine, saw a well deserved victory for Town.

To be honest the scoreline flattered Wingate, who worked hard, but rarely troubled Town's back four with Dale Brightly making his only one serious save in the closing moments.

Hard to pick out a MOM, as the whole team worked their socks off and probably should have had another 2 goals at least. Good crowd for a cold day at over 400

A well deserved win for us and delighted to come away with a clean sheet after last week.

I actually thought the turning point of the game was Emeka coming on, It added a whole new dimension to our game and in the second half we looked very strong. Aside from our goals, their keeper made some very good saves and we had two headed off the line as well.

As said above I think they only had one shot on target and that was in the 88 th minute.

A word for the ref, he got the game on and I thought had a good game out in the middle, keeping the yellows down to a minimum,

With Luke and Collis available next week it will be interesting to see how we go - Great to get back to winning ways with a good performance and really looking forward to next week now.

Come on you Blues!!

Very good result and top of the league again. Sorry I missed you blue pilgrim - I brought along 3 guests who had never visited Blue Lodge before and we opted for the main stand and the banter of the dugouts !! Still it pushed the crowd up to 419.

Could have been 5 but to be fair to their defence they had men on the line at the right time to clear a couple of goalbound headers.

The whole team played well but Emiko coming on gave us some much needed pace up front. What can you say about Swaine, got player of the season sown up already !!

Nice to be top of the pile again. Agree with the comments regarding "Mee-Ka", although I think he has performed better when not being named in the starting eleven.

Thought Collis's absence was very noticeable and glad he'll be available next Saturday.
