Uxbridge game on/off

Hi. Am new to the forum, is this the place to look for news of todays game being on or off due to the cold weather. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum! Yes, news of the game will be posted on here. I'm not sure what is planned in terms of any pitch inspection. There's a heavy ground frost in Slough where I am. I'd be very surprised if the game survives the weather.

Again, due to it being a local derby, I would imagine any decision could be left as late as possible.

 

Temperatures are forecast to be between 5 & 6 degrees. Maybe the only part of the ground that might need a bit of attention is the far corner where the sun doesn't reach.

sounds like Bedworth game with Barton is off so another midweek game for them on the cards

Good news. Barton v Bedworth is off, meaning another midweek away game for them. Would have been an opportune time to play Bedworth though, as despite signing Richard Wesley from Rugby, they've got a number of key players unavailable at the moment.

This goes to show why a winter break wouldn't work. There were no problems at all with games during December and Boxing Day was positively warm. Then we get postponements in mid January.

Teams should try and rearrange more if they drop out the cups early, for instance St Neots only played 3 games in the whole of October and have a gap from the 25th Sep - 15th Oct with no games at all!!!! And now find ourselves 3 games behind.

Absolutely Ian! I find myself shouting this at the telly every time I hear people harping on about a winter break. Britain doesn't have a climate - it has weather. You can have glorious hot sunny days in March and April and snow in June! We could all have had a winter break in December and then find six games falling foul in January and February. Imagine the fixture back log and how the Premier League managers and international managers moaning if we found all leagues trying to fit 8-10 games in in the last 5 weeks.
