Hendon Reserves v Slough Town Reserves

Deserved win for your reserves last night (2-1). Looked as though you had an experienced side out with a number that played in your defeat at Welling last week. Your goals came from Andrew Deaner (one of the best goals I've seen this season - cross from the right into the box, nod back across to Deaner who drove it in from the edge of the area) and Matthew Seedal after we had taken a first half lead.

Martyn reads this forum. His comments to me have shown that. He's seen the insults and abuse about him and his money and he's still here to try and prove people wrong. Well Martyn, we're still waiting. Is this latest stadium plan ever going to start? Do you have the money or the backers? You still seem to be struggling to finance a playing side let alone finance a multi million pound development (Possibly) in Britwell.

The fans of the club are appealing for answers. Again, the silence is deafening.

What happened to the supporters meeting which was pencilled in for the start of September?

At Maidenhead in pre-season, five more additions to the squad of quality players was coming from your lips, where are they?

£25,000 to Windsor when Wokingham only paid £12,000 to play there last season. Why so much for us?

Oh for the days of us being well run, well publicised and well cared for by someone who actually appeared to be able to honour his word and timescales and put his money where his mouth was.

Was Gary's closing comment intended to be ironic? Or was it a reference to Peter Walsh or Gordon Greig ? Not sure that I recognise anyone since who fits his description.

That's a good point, other chairmen have presided over poor financial and organisational situations at STFC (look at how the club was run when Thorne Snr. became ill, and remember when we were in receivership before that) so Martyn Deaner isn't an exception.

The one thing Martyn could and should do is keep everyone informed about how it's all going, rather than allow speculation and rumour to run rife.

So when's the promised meeting??

Funny how this thread started off about our reserves and now has highlighted the deficiencies of our chairman past and present!

Who were the two sets of chairmen previous to Mr Thorne then? I've not known it any other way than Mr Deaner's way. I can feel your pity....

It started with a Hendon supporter saying wot a good player Andrew (the donkey) Deaner was, which provoked a flurry of retorts from slough supporters which were deleted by Chris, although someone later calls him a bag of [****!!****], which doesn't get deleted, oh deary deary me.Perhaps its his time of month
