Burnham 1-1 Slough Town

Lewis Driver put the home side deservedly ahead after dominating the first half. Burnell got the equaliser two minutes into the second half but sounds like Burnham should have taken all three points from the various twitter feeds.

Decent 400 + crowd, as is normal for the fixture at Burnham, too.

I'm looking at this game as a point gained rather than 2 points lost!

1st half we were awful and our worst 45 minutes of the season so far, we had no answer to Burnham, they wanted it more! Credit to Bateman, we switched to 4-4-2, nicked an early 2nd half but we did not go on to dominate the game, it was an even halves football!

Anyway, we dug in, didn't lose and have picked up a valuable away point!

Must do better though I'm afraid, these types of games are coming thick and fast, teams are raising it against us and we need to raise our game even higher!

COME ON BOYS, back to winning ways next week!

On reflection I think I'm happy with a point. In the first half we were truly awful - unable to string a couple of passes together with Burnham pushing up and giving us no time on the ball. The Burnham keeper went off at half time without having to make a single save. The second half was better but not the display of a team that's top by several points. We got the equaliser and had other chances but they had equally as many, probably more. I didn't hear what the crowd was announced as.

414 at the game according to th league site, probably about 300 Slough fans!

As said, first half was awful, second half better but Burnham were in our faces for the whole game and fair play to them for that, they made it very difficult for us. Well done to the team for coming out after half time with a massive improvement, considering its been the same team with few subs in the last few games.

Given that Beaconsfield lost 2-1 at home to NGU and Northwood lost 2-1 at home to Hayes, I think we can see it as a point gained.

8 points ahead of Bedworth (game in hand) and Beaconsfield (no game in hand), and 9 ahead of St Neots (3 games in hand).

Did not enjoy that today !

so awful in the first half ... very important point though ! in the end ..

leaving the other teams to play catch up ...

don't rule out AFC hayes nor Uxbridge to make the play off's... having a good run of late and we still have to play

them at Home !

Everyone kept their heads today? no red cards? ;)

Very close call Manimal.

Paul Coyne challenged the keeper and made no contact whatsoever. The keeper then decides cheat to try and get him sent off by going down in a heap. Luckily I think the Refs assistant had a word with the Ref to say there was no contact and a yellow was produced.

I was to the right of the goal and thought there was contact although it was as much the keepers leg following through on to Paul's. Contact or not there certainly wasn't any malice on Paul's part. Given the nature of the game and the bizarre decisions the referee was making (both ways) I'm amazed the game finished with 22 men on the pitch.

im reasonably happy with the point. the way the 1st half went we could have been 2 or 3 down but 2nd half we came out superbly strong from kickoff got the goal but couldnt keep it going. the momentum swung quite a few times in the 2nd half we rode our luck with them hitting the post from Browns poor header back. we very nearly forced a winner but were not clinical enough when we did get chances

least said about the ref the better. so inconsistent and made what could have been a really good game much poorer than it had to be

Beaconsfield losing is good news though im not sure if they will long term stay up the top we shall see

still think we maybe need something different attacking wise somewhere so we can change it and make an impact in tight games especially away games. was definitely a good call to switch Seeby to right back at halftime and probably ensured we didnt lose the game

like Warro said on his twitter 1 point closer to the title. was expecting a tough game and Burnham are always up for it against us. they wanted to pressure and frustrate us and thats exactly what they did.

Therefore, Woozley isn't suspended. Does NBH not miss the Chesham B&B game?

Wasn't at the game but given our record against Burnham (W5, D5, L8) and it being a derby I always thought it was going to be a tough game so it's a good point. Yes, it's a shame we couldn't get another win but in the grand scheme of things a point on the board is better than no points.
