Royston goalkeeper gets Leicester City trial

Recommended Posts

Rhodes,you really don't help yourself,with comments like that i hope you never bump into R O R.

Former No.9 - I was being complimentary to Ref Off Ref's lad who is clearly an excellent young keeper, it's just unfortunate that he has been plagued by injury

It came across as sarcasm in my opinion.

That's a bit harsh mr angry . Can't say I agree with that .even though he is annoying but all he wants is a bite all the time and he always gets one . If every body on here ignored him that would bug him the most .

Sorry gaffa....that guy really [****!!****]in annoys me & I wish him all the bad luck in the world...let's get back to the topic....how good is the Royston. Keep.....better than BEWICK?!

Fair play to Rhodes if he sincerely means what he says, don't like seeing any player injured albeit your own or not, so on that note I'll say thank you to Rhodes.

As for the lad at Royston, 18 and first choice, given the clubs expectations guess they wouldn't risk him if he wasn't up to the job, even if the Leicester date gave him some valuable experience still a feather in his cap, fair play to him

In fairness Rhodes I actually thought you were commenting on how good the young lad could have been if he was not unlucky with injuries...unfortunately some people on here including his father are just interested in bitching at you..admittedly you do make some shocking comments and therefore deserve some of it....however the usual suspects should perhaps not always be so quick to jump on the bitchwagon...lets hope the lad from Royston does well at Leicester and a few people take note of Watchful Listeners post. Oh and Happy New Year to all..my first time back on in 2012!

Nice to see you back re Rhodes post massive benefit of the doubt considering he is always taking the mick about the lads injury record and this thread had nothing to do with him so make your own mind up about how you read it I guess.... For my part im done with the bloke until he posts things that arent slander, down right lies or blatant wind ups, as for people moaning about subject matter plenty of talk on here about football past present and future and I don't ever see the guys moaning posting on those threads bit maybe it's hard for them to see the text from those high horses lol.... Anyway any plans to get bCk into management?

Chinola should be able to walk in anywhere as he’s a class act, I expect the Berkhamsted job will be up for grabs soon so maybe that will be something for him to consider

Inside knowledge or yet another of your assumptions?

Karen - Well it goes without saying doesn't it the way Berkhamsted are playing at the moment

admittedly you do make some shocking comments

Chinola – Do I, well give some examples, unfortunately the truth hurts in this sad Politically Correct age of treading on egg shells. Do you have any irons in the fire by the way.

Will you be coming to hanwell this sat to watch us Rhodes

I'm going to Watford v Reading on Saturday otherwise I might have considered it however I'm hoping to get to Oadby Town the following week to cheer you on. Do we know why Kentish Town have switched the game from the Copthall Stadium to Reynolds Field.

I gave you the benefit of doubt Rhodes as Winslow says...lets get back to football, albeit not about the Royston lad on trial.

I dont have any irons in the fire at the moment...I am enjoying playing again, being able to turn up for training at 7.25pm and getting home at a reasonable hour is nice, likewise on a match day just turning up, playing, showering and hitting the bar is blinding rather than waiting to speak to the ref about his performance, speaking to an upset player or being really dispondent about the way my team played. Its funny cos I still get the same buzz when we win but dont feel anywhere as near as dejected when we lose. It can spoil your weekend when you are a gaffer but now I am disappointed for an hour and then move on to my pint with no worries or stress!

I miss parts of managing, sitting in the changing room is sometimes difficult or listening to certain instructions on the pitch..football is about opinions and everyones differ but it can be frustrating when you think you know better. On the flip side I look at things differently now, I respect the gaffer at lot more than I did when I was a bit younger, that may be maturity or because I have stood in his shoes.

The other big benefit is that I have shed over 3/4 of a stone, rather than supping coffee and dishing out orders I actually do some physical exercise, although I still find myself cheating in the warm-up and training which used to frustrate me about my players when i was a gaffer.

Playing SSML Div 1 has also taken me to a lot of new grounds that I never played on or managed at, also gives me a wider knowledge of players in case I decide to step back in. There are some decent players in the division who i have never seen play, although I would also say that I am not that impressed with the standard overall - there is a big gulf between the two divisions.

Finally, I look forward to travelling to Ampthill and having some banter with them....I have never been there or played against the players/coaching staff etc....funnily enough I read a lot about them on a certain forum....I can see ref off ref abusing me already!!

Do as I say not as I do school of management, I would be on that side of the fence. My excuse for cheating in warm up was "you'll get one lot of running out of me you can have it now or in the game" lol as for training "I need to be fresh for sat gaffer" retired at 20 I wonder why? Fittest I've ever been now put a good Pre season in at Chessington and enjoyed but ended up back in north London
