Saturday 7th January (Fixtures and Results)

Recommended Posts

I dont think just awarding the points is the answer.

What happens if Ampthill are going for promotion and are level on points with someone for the last promotion spot? They have clearly been denied the chance to healthily boost their goal difference (as London Colney were) because a seniorish non league club can't find 11 players to fulfil a fixture.

In the NLS the FA set the rules and therefore standardised across the country, so that the rules are applied consistantly .

The reserve league is not in the NLS so the rules can be applied slightly differently.

Postponed games are also a pain if they are called off at the last moment, programs and food, players travelling, Referees and Linesman payments and no gate money.

Anyway, getting back to a game that was played...Wodson Park stretched their unbeaten run to 8 matches by beating a good Cranfield team. The two form teams play each other this weekend at Lowfield. Derby match for both teams, really looking forward to it.

The Hoddy vs. Wodson game is shaping up to be a good one. We ended a decent Crawley Green's unbeaten run on sat, and are looking good going into the business end of the season.

Also, the cancelled Ampthill / Amersham game (if rearranged) cannot be good for Ampthill's fixture backlog.

With all the Cups Ampthill are still in they are going to hope the weather stays good. Start getting games called off and it will be a hectic end of season schedule, especially if CB calls games off if they have injury issues....

You're are spot on, games behind already and involved still in 4 cups.

Nice to be involved but nothing is won yet, and if the weather takes a turn then could be a nightmare towards the end of the season.

The only plus side at the moment as far as the league goes is we have a 3 point advantage over Hoddie with 4 games in hand, mind you at this level, in this league a 4 point lead with just one game to play is never safe....guess all we can do is take each game as it comes, provided the opposition turn up that is haha

Hatfield played Wgc , we proved Wgc played ringers . Game was declared null and void and Hatfield ended up getting no points !!!!

Before my return to the Club however this was a different case entirely, the match was played and Welwyn Garden City were fined heavily and lost the three points they gained from winning the game 2-0. The same thing would happen to any side fielding illegible players in a league fixture, fined and loss of points gained.

Not the only club to have played ringers. I've seen and played against countless teams that have done it. Also playing suspended players under different names

A different case maybe , but a strange ruling . A side could need three points to stay up and the opposing side could play ringers . They beat the team needing the points get caught out and the game wouldn't be replayed hence relegating the side needing the points !!!!

Rule 6.9 - Playing an ineligible player.

Any Club found to have played an ineligible player in a match shall have any points gained from that match deducted from its record and have levied upon it a fine. The League may vary this decision in respect of the points gained only in circumstances where the ineligibility is due to the failure to obtain an International Transfer Certificate or where the ineligibility is related to the Player's status only.

The Board may also order that such match to be replayed on such terms as are decided by the Board which may also levy penalty points against the Club in default.
