Stupid Bookings/sending offs

Does anyone else on here feel that this could be our downfall in gaining promotion this season???

We have a pretty small squad and we seem to pick up stupid yellow/red cards constantly.

We got away with Lewis smith missing the Ricay game but we won't continue to get away with it.Yesterday Frankie Curley got a silly yellow for kicking the ball away after our goal,at the time I thought it was harsh but on reflection,he could of just moved out the way of the ball or just let it hit him.Not sure why Lewis was booked early on but I think it was for something that may of been said and later on in the game he gets in a spat albeit provoked but had it got a bit more nastier could of seen both players booked and ultimately sent off.

Tuohy was sent off Saturday, misses Grimsby and more importantly wingate and Bury.Whether it was deserved or not it's not often the officials see things that are not there.

All of the above discrepancies I have listed were in games where we were on top at the time.

I am not having a go at the players, just think someone needs to sit down with them and tell them that this league is ours for the taking but their discipline or lack of it at times could be very costly to a side with a small squad. We are the best side around with our first team out but like every other team we are not effective with players missing every week.

Been my concern of late as well I know it's all in the heat of the moment but the players do need to calm down as this could wreck the season if not careful we are capable of winning this league now we proved that over the holiday

Yes we do get yellow and red cards for stupid things but i find every ref in this league now goes for there cards for things that was not even a foul and now we have all this on our backs that refs think that we are a team that are dirty due to all the bookings and they are going to blow up for every little thing against us. we just need a few games without bookings harder said then done in this league..

Rob - I have the following bookings -

Lewis Smith 14 (H) - dissent fter the referee awarded a throw in

Gaughan 26 (L)

Frew 48 (L)

Tommy Black 66 (H) -I forgot why Tommy was booked

Martin Tuohy 76 (H) – this was immediately following the goal

Rickie Hayles 76 (H) - this was immediately following the goal - presumably for asking the referee why Tuohy was booked

Ainsley 82 (L)

Kel - can you confirm who was booked please?

>>>>After Joe's goal it appeared to me that he booked Frank in the box and then Rickie near the half way line

The two bookings I was referring to both occurred close to the half way line - we thought the cards were directed at Tuohy and then at Hayles, in very quick succession.

I missed the Curley booking.

I will wait for the official team sheet to be posted.

I feel that we need to accept that bookings are going to happen with inconsistent decisions from refs even if the players are careful and we also have to accept that we cannot have a squad the size of Lowestoft or Lewes (or even Billericay on a smaller scale) as we haven't got the same resources as those clubs. If we can put our preferred selection out though we're a match for anyone in the RPL. Unfortunately, things happen on the spur of the moment, that with hindsight a player might not do if he had more time to think about it.

Most successful teams use less players during the season so this bodes well. Big squads are generally padded out with poorer players and the additional problem of trying to keep everyone happy. Luckily it seems we have one or two who can play in different positions so we'll be ok.
