Bury Town 1 Ricay 1

A decent away point for us at Bury today. Craig rang the changes with Oates, Wild and Chatting all in from the start.

Unfortunately the game as a spectacle was ruined by the Bury team falling over at absolutely every opportunity clutching their face, body, leg, knob etc and not getting up until the referee gave them the decision and/or booking one of our players. It was clearly a deliberate tactic and sadly the inept referee was mug enough to fall for it time and time again.

The first half was fairly even - they scored after Brightly parried a shot from the left and their player was quickest to react to stick it away. We came back quite strongly after that and Jay scored a deserved equaliser.

The second half was a half of two halves. They had the best of it early but we finished very strongly and had some decent chances to nick a winner, most notably with Berry sticking one over the bar from five yards. We brought Poole on and stuck him out on the left again. I don't think he touched the ball.

I'd like to see Cousins start next week and I don't think I'll ever be persuaded that we have the optimal central midfield pairing in place but again no lack of effort on our part. We've somehow ended up with seven bookings, which defies belief.

Other results probably helped us a bit and I'm really looking forward to seeing "Football League in 7 years" Tooting next week so we know what to aspire to.

A decent result but hoping for three points next week. Come on you Blues!!

Can't fault the effort and the end result. A work man like performance...but Bury have one thing in their locker...play acting. Almost up with Tonbridge Angels...

I think we should be a little more aggresive and creative with our starting XI team selection. I fully appreciate we were away from home but when we took the game to them, they were on a par with Harrow and Horsham. Perhaps that is just me believing we have more in our locker than we think we do.

A good won point away from home. Well done to the lads.

A great effort from the team and unlucky not to collect all three points. Totally dominant for most of second half and playing the ball around with confidence; very much a return to the form we enjoyed earlier this season.

Thought Bury have gone backwards from their performance at New Lodge earlier this season. Now relying on gamesmanship and playacting.

A ridiculously high number of Yellow Cards handed out by a Ref who was easily conned by Bury antics.

Other results were not too bad for us.

Looking forward to T&M now.

I didn't think we were out of the blocks quite as quickly as Saturday, they looked quite dangerous and took the lead.

After that we came back into it and Jay May levelled with a decent strike.

As the second half wore on we looked like being the only team that could win it.

By the end I wasn't sure who the ref was, the bloke dressed in black carrying the whistle, the Bury number 4 or the number 6. It looked as if their players were making most of the decisions, when they weren't rolling around the pitch screaming that is.

A point gained though as I can't see many sides winning there.

Three points Saturday please.

Well done to the lads on a tough battling performance against a stubborn Bury team whos main aim is to win over the referee rather than the opposition.

We still look laboured going through midfield but I felt we got down the wings well and looked to be getting back to our passing style of play. AIthough I still dont believe we should be starting with the two in the middle I felt they both put in a strong shift and did all that they could do to shut down the Bury midfield and help play move forward with some decent passing at times.

With regards to Bury, I would be embarassed to support a team that whines and shrieks at every challenge, which is all they did from beginning to end. Billericay are not a club that does this and I am proud of this fact but once again a referee has been bought by constant howls of "REF" when ever a player came within a foot of a Bury player!

A good day out though with some rather amusing sights in Bury, I think the travelling supporters will know what I mean......

I thought it was a good game and we played well despite the comedy ref.

I'm sure last season saw a thread in similar vein as this in that Bury generally had no interest in playing the game, but simply concentrated on falling over and whining.

A nice town, I even quite like the ground, but it really is annoying having to watch that tripe.

Disappointed that we couldn't get the winner despite all the pressure, but congrats to Jay on refinding his scoring boots and putting in a performance on par with those earlier in the season.

Looking forward to Tooting on Saturday. I recall that, despite the result at our place, they were a decent side. It might be a tough one.

A good result. I must admit when I heard the result I was delighted but from the comments above perhaps two points lost.

Pleased to see May score with a well taken goal. It looked as though Swainy had a bit of a shocker but well done boys on getting a hard away point. Strange that they chose to show our fouls in the brief highlights of the game.

On to Tooting
