Epsom Athletic apply to join CCL

I won't bother to honour NICE GUY with a response as I only do intelligent conversations and he hasn't got the tools to deal with it.

Today's game was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. It was our first postponement of the season, and I really can't see why it makes any other difference to anybody else. I had to be up very early this morning as I might have had to print a programme. Merstham have been very good to us during our time there. Anyone who actually knows me will know that if I felt there was anything odd going on, I would have said so as I did with our Cove postponement last year, which was debated fully on here in November 2010. The rest of you will have to trust me on this.

I would remind people on this site that we had to sell our ground because of financial difficulties back in the late eighties. We are still paying for that. Maybe this is why I have a problem when teams lump us in with those other teams seen to be "piggybacking" at other grounds. I don't agree with it personally, although it is a choice that each team in that situation has to make and is no one's business but their own.

If I were one of the people who get to vote on things like Epsom Athletic's acceptance, the ONLY thing I would be concerned about is whether Chessington's pitch is up to it. I have mentioned previously about all these ground gradings we have to abide by, only for no apparent interest to be taken in the green bit in the middle.

We are lucky this year weather-wise. Normally all of April is taken up with Chessington home games due to the postponements. When will Epsom Athletic be able to play theirs?

Same here E & E Ed.

Shitty snidey comments aren't necessary, especially from people who do [****!!****] all to help out at clubs!

CC I help out clubs by spending my hard earned money which goes towards paying clubs (your clubs) bills just like all others do, you ungrateful............ !!! Remind me when your next game is on ...lol !

So you two, are you saying that games have/are not ''conveniently - wink, wink'' called off 'cos the home team are struggling player-wise (ie) not having their best team availqabnle or simply can't get a team out ? Think carefully 'cos I beg to differ and all I ask for is honesty ! ...or perhaps there is a flu bug going around !

And for you Ed I'm far more intelligent than producing a programme............lol !!!

Behave Ed if moderators want to get rid of me so be it, but I shall return as NICE GUYS BROTHER ..........ha ha !!!

First of all our two matches v RPV (now 1st Feb) and South Park (now 15th Feb) were postponed due to heavily waterlogged pitches. If you had read some of our players comments re these matches on facebook you will know how upset and frustrated they were (and continue to be) at our regular mid-winter postponements which is why, as a club, we are trying to do something about it.

I acknowledge ALL fans who pay to watch our home matches so I apologise for the dig re "helping out at clubs". However, you do continue to be somewhat "suggestive and misleading" regarding the affairs of clubs so can you blame them/me when they have a dig back. If I haven't met you already, introduce yourself at any Wood home game, we will chew the CCL fat and, no doubt, have a laugh!

Epsom & Ewells prog is one of the best around so you must be a genius NG!

And I will not sit idly by and let anyone slag off programme editors.

I agree that the Epsom one is one of the best that I have seen and I can only vouch for the amount of work that goes into putting one together. I must have started work on the Egham programme back in mid November knowing that it was going to be something special. I am proud of what I produce and I am sure every other prog editor feels the same way about their efforts. Printing costs are just plain bonkers so getting the right deal is critical. Luckily at Windsor, we sell enough to cover the costs and I can only empathise with those that don't (Cue some nonsense from NG about the programme budget being so much more at Windsor than anywhere else in the CCL).

No doubt NG would soon be whining and complaining bitterly if programmes were not available.

Nice Guy buying a Programme, your having a Giraffe, ED.

You're a silly man Smudgeyboy. Anyway, I always support the club I visit by having a few beers, bit of food, a cup of tea or 2. pay entrance fee and buy a programme. I'm a believer if people work hard, normally voluntarily, and make an effort to supply a service to spectators for their clubs much needed funds, the least I can do is oblige by helping be it in a small way.

Windsor Ed if there are no programmes available, I've always got my loyal pad and trusted biro-bic pen at the ready.................lol !

N.G. what are you on about?

He has gone Smudge so he can not answer

Personally I hope that this is not the case.

He is like one or two other people on here. Spouts nonsense sometimes but often talks good sense and makes for lively 'banter'

How can he be taken seriously though

Football is a small world and theres a lot of old heads around here that know the scene inside out. Considering all these clubs he's played for and Ryman clubs hes managed isnt it odd that no one knows who he is?

Fraid to say but he sounds like a sad lonely groundhopper with an alto ego

Does anyone knoiw of any more applications to join the CCL?

There were three other clubs who expressed an interest but, as far as I know, only Epsom Athletic have put in a formal application.
