v Marlow

Well done to the team for getting the 3 points today, a solid performance all round. Thought Seeby was MoM today, playing well all over the pitch but everyone put in a good performance. What a great run of results over the festive period!

Marlow gave us a couple of early scares but we did well to then control the game from then on. Wasn't convinced on the red card from behind the incident, looked like a 50-50 tackle but didn't have the best view.

Bring on Saturday, hopefully we can put in a good performance against Burnham too and keep this great run of form going.

I felt that today was by no means a bad performance, but it was (yet again!) a far from spectacular one. We did what we had to do to beat a rather poor side.

I don't feel that the red card significantly changed the game, I felt that we would have won it comfortably anyway. I felt that the tackle was 50-50, but I caught it all on video so will have to wait and see what it shows.

Does anyone know what Burnell's disallowed goal was disallowed for, as from where I was standing I didn't see anything wrong with it?

It's very nice to be sitting 7 points clear going into the second half of the season. Had anyone told me 3 months ago that's how it would be, I'd have said they were deluded! However with Bedworth, Beaconsfield and St. Neots (if they win their games in hand) hot on our heels, it's imperative that we don't become complacent. They are no awards handed out on January 3rd, so we must treat every single game as being of vital importance.

COYR!!!

Glad to see your positivity Nathan :)

Looking at the video footage I can only see the possibility of a foul on the keeper by Sean Sonner.

If the sending off wasn't for an over the top challenge I would say it was a slap/punch on NBH when he was on the ground.

Having reviewed the red card incident, the referee got the decision correct!

All I would say is NBH was lucky not to receive a yellow card, yes he went in with 1 foot but he did not win the ball, the Marlow no.7 lunged 2 footed and took the ball initially but it was a dangerous tackle, had he not took the ball first, NBH could have suffered a nasty injury!

I'm another who thought the red card was pretty much a 50/50 challenge but not sure how much the reaction by the Marlow player contributed to the red card. Considering Seeby has been away for a year his performances against Fleet and especially Marlow have been exceptional. I thought Swift was superb today also. He's becoming a very accomplished wing back and did lots of defending in the first half. When he first played in that position I thought he was a bit gung-ho coming forward but has got the balance right now between defending and attacking.

Three points and a clean sheet. Tight defences win leagues :-)
