again today i think this was a mental thing the team have got to realise that they have to be up for every game and not conclude that they have won it before leaving the dressing room, if teams were getting up for the game because we are slough town how much do you think that they would love to put one over us now that we are top of the division, more than doubley so i'd wager.

Yep, not great but 3 points. This Fleet team will surprise a few and it would be odd if they were relegated as they are much better than their position in the table. Their new signing gave our defenders a lot to think about even though he was on his own up front.

Fleet applied the best tactics in their position ..putting 8 men behind the ball ! It was very very difficult to break this down !

Fleet certainly a better team than their league position shows ! However we move forward and Thanks to all the players for their

efforts so far this season ... I am more than sure they know the task in hand !

But Chalfont Just shows they raised their game against us ! lost 3 nil to Beaconsfield and now 5 - 1 v St Neots ..I just wish they

had done the same today ! quite clearly they did not ! However ultimately It will be down to us to get results and even though we did take a lot of breaking down of the Fleet de-fence .. we got the win !

You can't play champagne football every week.

St Neots have put in some poor performances this season hence they will still be 2 points behind us IF they win their 2 games in hand.

Bedworth and Beaconsfield would give their right arm to have scraped a 1-0 victory today.

3 points in the bag and 7 points clear.

Well done to the team and management for a great 2011.

Same again in 2012 and it could be our year!!

I, like most others around me, was frustrated for large parts of today's game and wish we could have exerted more authority on a game where we held all the aces, especially second half.

However, as has been mentioned many times above, the 3 points was the main thing and that's what we got.

Just been looking over some stats since the start of the season and there's a few things which jump out;

In the first seven games (up to and including Rugby away) we dropped 8 points whereas in the 15 games since then we have dropped only 9.

And I can remember saying as we were leaving AFC Hayes that we had a difficult run of games up to the end of the year including trips to Northwood, Biggleswade and (on paper at least) SYCOB as well as hosting St Neots and Bedworth. In the 9 games since that night we have only dropped 5 points despite the fact that we were far from our best in any of those matches with the exception of the St Neots and SYCOB games. If we can add form to results then things can surely only get even better.

All in all, a huge pat on the back to the management, players and supporters for the efforts so far. I for one believe we will win this league (in fact I have a £5 bet on at 10/1 that backs this up!!!) and we have put ourselves in a fantastic position so far to do just that. Here's to a hugely successful 2012. COME ON YOU REBELS and a happy new year!!! (Kayleigh would like to add that she agrees with all of the above and wishes you all a happy new year also - and she loves Sean Sonner!!!).

Just seen Horsham Rebel's photos (excellent job as usual), does anyone think the goalie might have been very unlucky to get sent off? It doesn't look like a deliberate punch to our player, in fact he punched the ball!

Lino was pretty definite about it, but IMO it doesn't even look like a booking.

It wasn't the coming together as the ball was surrounding them but an incident which followed shortly after as Burnell was on his knees trying to get up. Pryce hit him in the face whilst trying to get back into position (partially caught on film, but not included in highlights which are just about to be compiled and uploaded)

Why have you chosen not to put it on, Gary?

Here's some stills put together:

Click on the picture for the "animation"

Bit grainy but you can clearly see him throw his hands into Danny's face. You can't do that and expect to get away with it. To be fair the guy who went in goal looked pretty comfortable.

I honestly don't think we were quite as bad as some people are making out!

They say that "league table doesn't lie", and I don't think that Fleet were an exception this, they weren't all that up front despite having a handy quick forward. I do however think that Fleet played for a draw and went all out to frustrate the league leaders.

The main positive was that we kept plugging away at it, and (eventually) got our just reward.
