Canvey v AFC Hornchurch

Possibly the most one sided 2nd half display i have seen until the sending off, canvey couldn't get the ball off of Hornchurch but we didn't take the chances. The Sending off was a joke tbh,the over reaction of the Canvey players was nothing new, their crowd had been baying for blood from the first whistle,it was obviously the only way they were ever going to beat us.Had the match stayed 11 v 11 i would of thought the 4-1 scoreline would of been in our favour,in fact i think even the staunchest Canvey fan would of admitted Hornchurch were completely in control at that point.I doubt it comes as any consolation to Tuohy who by the sounds of it now misses the grimsby match but the defender apologised to him on his way off for the over reaction,a reaction that no doubt led to the sending off.

And i may get lambasted for this after losing 4-1 but that is the worst Canvey side i have seen in years, had we scored one of the several chances early in the 2nd half,we would of won even with 10 men as i don't think they looked capable of scoring 2 against us unless we were attacking, which is what we did with ten men to try to get a 2nd goal.

Hornchurch played the better football and end up losing. Sending off was the turning point.

Two of Canvey's goals came from breakaways from Hx attacks when we were already down to 10 men.

Not going to fault the players, just one of those games. Canvey and Horsham are bogey teams for us.

I think someone at Canvey must practice Voodoo because they look a poor side and still won.

Need to get this out of the system and move on.

To be fair we created loads of chances and i think over complicated in the box. If we had taken one of the chances we would have been out of sight by the sending off . We move on and another big game next.

Yes,played well.

Doesn't deserve to get criticised by some when he tries to take on defences.

He has scored some cracking goals from coming in,today he got stick (from a small minority) for not passing, and then by the same few for passing.

On reflection, although I didn't think the sending off was one.We must sort our disciplin out.We get in far too many silly spats resulting in bans.

Smith got involved in a couple today, tuohy was lucky to escape a yellow early in the match and I felt Elliot was lucky to escape a 2nd yellow early 2nd half although I think the actual yellow he got first half was a joke.

I am also fed up of these sh1t teams crowding the referee trying to get our players off as they know this is their only chance of getting something from the game but it seems to work with the referees in this league so perhaps we should join them and scream blue murder every time our players are touched.

Canvey are a very poor side who have somehow done the double on us,as unlucky as we were, wasted chances are just to blame as a refereeing decision or two.Perhaps we should of played for a 1-0 win when down to 10 men but can't really blame the side for carrying on attacking as Canvey were dead on their feet at that point just waiting for us to rack up a cricket score against them
