A disappointing result for everyone, but always a difficult fixture, particularly on a heavy pitch.

match highlights below.... looking back I have to say it was a great game on a really heavy pitch which Town deserved something from with the amount of chances we created... Tilbury are a good hard working side though so take nothing from them. Back to winning ways on Monday!!!

Some interesting comments from the Tilbury Manager at the end of the above link about their attitude.

 

Town might have scored 4 or 5 on another day, but Tilbury players, particularly their 4 - Paul King - gave everything and had a will not be beaten attitude ( and still had time for some banter with the Town supporters ). Don't know if he plays like that every week, but if he does then he would be a good addition to our squad.

 

Lots of comments about the pitch and it not being like QE Stadium etc, but lets face it, it is wet and heavy grounds are what we will get - ie, next away games at Aveley and Pots Bar.

 

Can't knock the effort from Town players, but we need to tighten up at the back if we are to hold top spot and when you are top everyone wants to beat you.
