Aveley vs MARGATE - LIVE coverage

Great team effort today. Clokey did well at the back, and with his encouragement (though a lot of swearing!), and obviously the longest-range set-piece goal I have ever seen. Avery worth a special mention too, and Overland for a crucial stop in the first half.

Appiah took the goal well and is starting to look very valuable, but my MOM today would be Tom Bradbrook, for his early goal, holding up the ball well and releasing it just right on several occasions, the great pass for Appiah's goal, and also helping out in defence very often when necessary.

Well done to all the players today.

On updates, I do the Twitter and the system did have a few problems today as I noticed when trying to post. I suggest you always use the Matchday Live Twitter view on the home page (which you will need to refresh) rather than directly viewing via www.twitter.com/margate_fc. I'd also have the Match Details page open in anoher window so you get the latest score and a reminder of the line up plus latest scores from other games.

There is a possible development in the pipeline to bring text / Twitter-like coverage onto the same page as the other updates, but right now we are unable to merge Twitter with the match details page for a whole bunch of technical reason.

Wellsie,I was refreshing the home page & when I did sometimes it went completely or it just came back up with old stuff. Eventually it came good but updates, refreshing everytime through the home page, weren't as they should be either.

I'm blaming Twitter anyway for the whole shambles!

We were poor, but we won! Played well until the first goal and then it was just a hoof-fest. Start of the second half at 1-1 Aveley had two great chances to score (they got the ball in the goal once but it was given offside). Generally an even game but Aveley's defending for each of our goals was awful whereas we did OK. Crowd given as 188. In reality about 120 were present (I should know, I counted). 70 home and getting on for 50 away.
