Attendance Figures

With so many questionable attendance figures these days.

How does your club determine the figure?

Do you add in all the freebies, reserve team players, non playing members etc?

Is it a case of taking the gate receipts and working it out or is it done by head count?

Likewise at what part of the game does a head count take place?

Very very simple you get a little counter you put it in your hand then click it when some one walks in . They use them in night clubs even on planes lol

We do ours on payed attendance so you can always add quite a lot on top of the "official" figure

The 112 attendance was for our game on Tuesday against Oxhey Jets. I dont usually bother doing a head count but i thought i would as there was a decent crowd on Tuesday so I did a head count and i made it 124 and then i asked one of the clubs committee members and they said it was 112 based on gate receipts.

Ours is quite technical really, we count the people around the pitch, sometimes we may accidntally include dog walkers.

When Rhodes used to officiate the gate at Tik Tok, he counted paying spectators, the officials, subs from both teams, people on the top deck of the passing bus, all their shadows, multiply it by 12 and still come up with a gate bursting attendance of......no more than 4 ?????

Yes I have been to the picturesque setting of 61FC on numerous occasions, in fact my first visit was on the 27th December 1986 and it was bloody freezing (minus temps I recall).

I asked on Tues and was told we only count paying spectators

Totternhoe can't charge an admission so I assume it is a headcount at some point during the match.

 

Tring Athletic is the number through the turnstiles in the 1st half (includes full price, concessions & free passes etc). We often get an increase in numbers during the second half if our 3rd or 4th teams are at home & kick off at 2, we also get a few coming across from the rugby club next door & members who just come down for a beer but don't want to pay the admission.

 

From Saturday's game vs Hertford a poster on the another forum gave a headcount of 94 whereas the "official" figure was 112 - there must have been a few hiding in the bar!
