The non-league paper report from Bedfont game suggests that it is Glenn Garner of Bedfont. Seems apt as he has played for Hemel Hempstead ! lol !

 

Steve Bateman says he has a good goal to game ratio but the Bedfont website doesn't seem to back that up,as their statistics say 3 goals in 17 appearances and 1 assist. He looks not dissimilar to Simon Martin,as his hair colour is the same.

His record before joining Bedfont wasn't too bad by all accounts.

Bedfont are not particularly good though are they. better team mates = more chances. lets wait and see but i trust Bateman's judgement

Seems he played for Hendon,too and in 64 appearances scored 20 goals, but has had his fair share of injuries so understandable that he has missed games. He's about 27,so has a bit of experience.

Funny as I remember thinking that Garner would be a good signing when we played Bedfont, he wasn't afraid to mix it up with our back 3 and he played with a smile on his face throughout!

Hope you're right,CR. It's hard to know who's a good non-league player and who's not, unless of course you watch them over a number of games.We all know of the star players and their reputations but the average player most of us do not. Can't say I remember Glenn Garner from the home game against Bedfont but that match was the 2nd game for the new management team of Bedfont and results for them have steadily improved,so Mr Garner may not be so easily obtained.

However,he would give us a different aspect to our foward play,if he does come.Different options are always good.

not up to him to reveal all at least before going to press i suppose. Bateman probably hasnt even told him again probably do feel we need something new to freshen our attack so hopefully we finally get someone in

Do we need to freshen our attack? Give Sean and Danny chances and they will score goals - they've proved that time and time again. I think it's creating chances that we need to improve on and maybe that's as much about the way we play as the players that we play with. Just a thought!

Something would have to give. In comparison to the past couple of seasons under Bateman, this season defensive stability has come at the expense of attacking prowess.

Danny & Sean have scored 32 goal between them that's half of the total Slough have scored.
