ACT OF VIOLENCE,WHAT ACT OF VIOLENCE

What a load of nonsense. Conviently forgot to mention their no 5 bundling Tommy Black over off the ball or their defender being saved from s red card when he handled on the line if the rebound hadn't gone in. They are not points ahead either they are ahead of lowestoft on goal difference only. Any relative to the Lewes manager?

Had a peek at Thier forum and to be fair most took the defeat on the chin but the general theme seem to be players missing well lucky they are not us we turn out with the bare bones week on week out and on a good week we can fill the bench take note it's the quality of your squad and not the quantity as for the violence please jog on

>>>>>Surely the fact that the goal went in is irrelevant,he handled on the line so deserved to get a red

There was a similar incident at Farnborough - the keeper handled the ball several yards outside his area where Lewis Smith scored the third goal, but no action was taken.

Likewise the number 5 (I think?) handled on the line at Billericay but Tommy Black put the ball into the net from the rebound.

I spoke to the referee's assessor at Farnborough and he said that a referee does not have to automatically give a yellow / red card for deliberate hand ball (where the intention is to prevent a goal). At both Farnborough and Billericay the player in question did not get a yellow / red card. The assessor was also equally adamant when Joe Woolley handled outside the area (close to the touchline) - his opinion was that the yellow card given to Woolley was the correct decision, (as opposed to the red card which the handful of home supporters wanted).

The referee's guidance is quite simple - if the handball (or foul) prevents a goal being scored, or prevents a goal scoring opportunity, then a red card should be shown. But iIf a goal is scored despite the deliberate handball / foul, the referee can give a yellow card at his discretion. It is NOT an automatic yellow in such an incident.

We also had the incident at Billericay, in the final few seconds of stoppage time, when the Billericay number three prevented a goal scoring opportunity by fouling Jon Hunt (I think?) when Hunt was inside his own half of the field - but at a time when the home keeper was still midway inside the Hornchurch half of the pitch. The number three got away with a yellow, but Jon Hunt could easily have lobbed the ball into the empty net (emoty half of the pitch in fact) from 60 yards away - hence it could easily have been a red and not a yellow.

Re- the so called act of violence - Frankie Curley was slightly late with his challenge on the number three (the same number three who escaped with a yellow when he prevented Hunt from lobbing the ball in from 60 yards away), and a yellow card was correct.

The booking of Joe Anderson however was farcical as he was not time wasting but retreiving the ball.

While I agree with Dave, that most ricay fans seem to have taken the defeat on the chin, gazza as usual talk complete crap, the violence he is talking about was so violent that the officials, their players, even 1000 fans missed it.Knowing the ricay players, had someone swung an elbow, they would of gone mental to get Frank

sent off.Pie in the sky as usual from Gazza

I didnt miss it, he led with his elbow and was lucky he didnt do more damage, in the premier league it wouldve been a clear red card but in the Ryman league, where im sure youll agree the officials are poor, he was unlucky the ref saw it! But these things happen over 90 minutes and you move on, but theres no denying you deserved the win.

Just make sure you get the same result when you play Lowestoft.

When you see what the Wigan player got sent off for then maybe you have a point.I just think it's a physical game at this level and these things happen, certainly didn't think it was a violent act like gazza mentions, had it been CE in the bar would of said so but he just said it was physical

I think it's going to be a fascinating second half of the season with 5 teams seeming capable of the title and 3/4 others with a sniff. We have played all the top 5 away which if we get our home form going is good
