Genuine Question Regarding Horley Town FC

Throughout the season, I have noticed that the CCL do not announce the attendances for Horley's home games. On inspection of their website they do not state them either. Can someone please let me know why this is the case?

They had 50 v Dorking on 26th November.

I know there have been quite a few cases of 'no information provided' in the bulletin when Horley Town have been at home. Noticed it at the start of the season and assumed it was due to a new secretary/other not knowing it had to be done, which is reasonable enough. If they still aren't doing it then they will surely be racking up some serious fines?

 

Just a guess and could be way off the mark...

Where are the attendances shown online? All I can find is that page (below) re averages that hasn't been updated since 1st October and have never been able to find the game by game gate details.

Horley had a change of management (including secretary) at the beginning of the season and yes we did incur fines for not reporting attendances until fairly recently when the situation was corrected.

 

[We had also failed to report details of scorers so that Kyle Hough was not recorded as the Premier Division's leading scorer (which he almost certainly was until fairly recently)]

 

Hopefully we're now fully compliant and won't be getting any more fines, which we can certainly do without in these financially challenging times!

 

Sadly attendances have been pretty disappointing when you consider that we had a great start to the season and, if our home form could only match our away performances, we'd be right up there.

 

We're currently giving the place a bit of a facelift, have turnstiles on order and excellent parking facilities so hoping to welcome many more visitors between now and the end of the season.

Will the League FINE themselves,for reporting a wrong result on their website and Murrells Musings ?Worcester Park 1 v 4 Farleigh Rovers,unless the Knowleden brothers now play for Farleigh.

I count 28 in total of which 5 were in FA Cup, 2 in the Vase and 2 in the League Cup so 19 League goals.

Attendences always seem strange use to remember some clubs like Three Bridges use to say the had 300 yet if you were at the game it was more like 75. Was very supprised about the attendence at SouthPark as there seamed a lot less. Hopefully when we have turnstyles ours will be a lot more acurate

I've noticed Three Bridges attendances in recent years. They always go down to a more realistic level for cup games when they have to pay half the money out to the opponents.

I've read somewhere that the tax man isn't interested in attendances, just overall take on the gate. They're well aware that hundreds of clubs do special offers and/or let in people for free so they ignore attendance data.

Note - this is just what I've read - it may be complete bs so if any club falls foul of HMRC on this don't blame me!

 

Regarding Horley - I do most of the editing for the CCL on the non-league matters website and there are loads of zero attendances which mean their current average is showing as 13. If anyone from the club can supply me with attendances from the missing games I can fill them in. That applies to other clubs who haven't given the league an attendance as well - there are quite a few who've missed at least one game.

the ccl encourage higher attendances to be recorded to match what other leagues do.

 

attendance does not equate to clicks at the turnstile.

I work the turnstiles at Windsor and I can assure everyone that no-one at Windsor FC adds numbers on. If anything, we have under-reported. We use cloakroom tickets to keep track of those coming in to differentiate between Adults, Concessions and Children. For the Egham game, there were 3 turnstiles open and we used a simple 5 bar gate principle; a system also employed by Redbridge!
