Tuesday 27th December Scores/Results

Very strong second half performance by Ash this morning against Farnham scoring 3 in the final 30 minutes. Great hat trick from Liam Ralls. Playing some really good stuff now Ash and they look a decent side at times. It must be very difficult for the Farnham lads to play at home on that pitch, it's a real mud heap and doesn't encourage free flowing football.

Didnt know Ash United's pitch was suddenly Wembley stadium!?!?

compared to what I saw today its more like Lords on a summers afternoon!

hard luck dorking, I didnt go , no points but the score suggests a good effort, wait to hear.

actually I could probably guess the reports

from guildford

somehow guildford were 21 down at ht despite battering a poor dorking side for 45 mins, dorking restricted to two efforts whist the crap lino disallowed two good goals for guildford, sanity restored second half when our pressure paid off with two well taken goals past a poor dorking defence

from dorking

chicks had a well deserved 2-1 lead at half time despite playing hurdy in goal and bigjr at centre halfdue to last minute injuries and a train cancellation.. finally the pace caught up with the two u 13 full backs and somehow the referee played the full 90 minutes despite our young lads and guildford were awarded two debatable pens in the 93rd and 94th minutes.

looking forward to Jan when we will have a full squad with everyone being in bed by 7pm new years eve

why do i do it ?

becckers

I wasn't at the game, but was getting regular phone up-dates from various people.

One interesting call ended with the words......

"If City think they'll easily pinch the title from Windsor, they'd better start RE-THINKING !"

(Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ! Very interesting !)

i must admit city struggled in the first half against dorking ,who blagged a very soft looking penalty in the first half the cheat who won it had big smirk on his face ,dorkings second was well deserved after a good spell of play by the chicks ,but city had numerus chances in the first half hitting the woodwork twice despite playing poorly in the first half ,city came out in the second half looking a totally different side playing a flowing passing game ,the above poster probally didant relise we had a lot of regular players out today through suspension and being absent ,so city played a mixture of youth players and subs today ,had the likes of gibbs and gacheru been playing the chicks thumbling keeper woudnt of a stood a chance ,not bad for a bad day at the office ,and big well done to the youngters who played today

CCL Div 1

Hartley Wintney 4 v 0 Eversley

A tighter game than the scoreline would reflect for 75 minutes but it has to be said all the fight went out of the Boars for the first time this season and at the end it could have been an embarrassing scoreline.

Rewind to the start of the game and it was Eversley who shaded the opening twenty minutes. Baker should have put us ahead on 10 minutes with a free header from 6 yards but glanced it wide. At the other end Martin Williams headed straight at Shelley in the same position for Hartley. Both sides played narrow and, a Shelly tip over aside, that made most of the first half a game of attrition with neither troubling defenses. It was the home side who went in 1 up however with after Kleboe handled an Nathan Stamp cross. Ball to hand but with his hands by his ears we can have little complaint! Hamilton dispatched the penalty.

With Bradley Cann coming off in a forced substitution at half time Hartley started much the sharper and the more likely to score and increase their lead. The normally reliant Shelly gifted the home side their second though on the hour spilling into his own net. Eversley went to 3 at the back in an effort to but their 'wing backs' played far too high up the pitch leaving Eversley susceptible to the counter as Hartley shut up shop and scored two on the counter in the last 15 minutes. Eversley's most dangerous player on the day Matt Stamp hobbled off and with it our chances of getting back in to the game. It could have been worse but for some last defending from Cooper / Reeves, with the post helping and Shelly redeeming himself. The home side looked far fitter at the end and we will see next week at home to Knaphill if we can just blame it too much turkey! Hartley looked very strong and fully deserved the plaudits but I have to say not much class in the bar after with some of their players (not all) taking to the raised stage singing 'easy'.

Farnham 0 Ash 3

first half report.............nothing

2nd half....we played much better got the ball down & passed & moved alot quicker all over the park & got our rewards with an early 2nd half goal. Game still in the balance before Liam Ralls fires it two long range shots in the space of five minutes to win the game for Ash.

Ref was spot on allowing a tough local derby flow & when he needed to took control of any bad foul.

lets hope we can now take this new form into the new year & continue to climb up the table

Knaphill 1-2 Westfield

Firstly thoughts are with the Knaphill player and his family for their tragic loss over Christmas.

Nota great game. Typical scrapy derby. We started awfully and fell behind early on to a penalty. Never in a million years handball but it was the first of several strange decesions from the match official. We gradually came into the game and deservedly drew level before the break.

Second half another disjointed display from us but we looked the more likely to score and did so 20 min from time through intershiminter -I'm sure he'll come on here and clear up if it was handball or not :)

We saw out the rest of the game quite comfortably. Not a great performance but did enough to win

AUpostie I understand u had a cameo appearance from Matt Morris back from Abu Dahbi but only lasted 45 minutes!

Yep we sure did....think he got injured so had to come off........so another 8 months before another experience

It seems that Ken During was unable to commit himself to the club so he has gone. Luke Muldowney was not fit enough to come off the bench, so we had a youngster in his place, and although he did well he does not yet have the physical heft that Ginge does. We were also missing Marvin Alebiosa and Steve Elpenyong but I am not sure if they were on short term loan. Also Dale Marvell has gone off the boil and Matt Grave had no chances at all. Playing the ball on the deck in front of their back four created the chance for our goal - it was no consolation, but it was good to see Hartlebury get his first for the club. Our youth players all do their utmost but don't have the presence needed against old hands like Chris Ellis, who we know as he turned out for us two seasons ago (and scored a worldy/fluke at Camberley, down that 1:8 slope).

yeah but the lad who came on for him made a big difference and got them going a bit more, so wasn't a bad change after all but always sorry to see a player going off injured

the change did seem to make us go forward quicker which caused Farnham more problems

South park 2-1 Horley f/t

Just got back from this very frenetic game. Lots of glitterati there.

Best wishes to Scott Robson aka Blueandwhitearmy who went off on a stretcher and had an ambulance called for a possibly bad knee injury.

Well done to Molly for an amazing goal-line block on Hough when it was still 0-1 to Horley. Park went on to draw level and win in the last few minutes plus the long injury period due to Scott being down.

Hard to judge the game for me as I had friends playing for both sides.

Just got back from hospital no broken bones but possibility of ligament or tissue damage got leg splint on and crutches so that's me out for a while. But the main thing is that we ended up beating horley well deserved by second half performance

not a great game knaphill dominated the first 30 mins and should have been 2up penalty was definatley hand ball but close to outside the box and went 1up through luke craig . westfield scored against the run of play neat play from the left winger who crossed and found an unmarked player at the back post 1-1. 2nd half few chances but westfield controlled the game and scored and worthy of the 3 points

WINDSOR 4 EGHAM TOWN 1

I feared this would happen but at least it was not as bad as it looked like being halfway through the second half. Windsor are a decent side who were 1-0 up at half time as they caught us on the break - I think Chennells scored. He certainly got the second one. Letting in two in two minutes did not help (Porter and O'Toole) but we did at least score a nice goal at the end as Dan Hartlebury played a 1-2 with Tom Hedges before curling a shot in.

On the day when the free admission played a big part in the crowd being announced as 806 and the much heralded Hog Roast doing good business I have one question: when did it become alright for alcohol to be allowed inside the ground? Perhaps Windsor got some dispensation? And finally... this Windsor is supposed to be something other than a resurrection of Windsor & Eton, aren't they? They used to play in red and green, which are the dominant colours used in the glossy (and, at £2.50, not cheap) programme.

No complaints about Windsor getting the three points. I hope that when we meet at our place in April we will have a full squad to choose from. We were so short of players that John Hamsher was named as a sub.

A good game of football - a fine advertisment for the CCL. Egham are certainly one of the best I've seen this season but right now (Ominous) Windsor look very hard to contain with a strikeforce of O'Toole, Romeo and Chennells that will tear many defences apart this season. (They didn't do that with Egham apart from that 5-10 minute period in the 2nd half when we notched 3.)

A gate of 806 was exceptional. Hopefully at least a few dozen of those will pitch up to the next game!!

Agreed Rother, a great advertisement for the CCL. Was great to see so many people in the ground, so much hard work went to promoting the game, it was great to see the reward with such a big attendance. I remember a thread on here a few months ago about ways to attract more fans, and I definitely recommend what Windsor did today, it goes to show what can be achieved. People on here questioned financially it doesn't make sense, but we had 800+ people, the food stalls were making a lot of money, the bar was rammed before, during and after the game, the club shop was selling out of merchandise I think its fair to assume the club probably make 3 to 4 times the usual take for a CCL game. Some great work by the committee and a great initiative, proud to be a Windsor FC fan today and a nice win which will hopefully encourage a good number to return.
