New Bradwell

In regards to the post about the future of non league football, and who will step up onto comittees and as chair people/directors etc...

I feel the future of Non League football is very bright. The FA have just annunced a huge £150m spending program between now and 2015, attendances (accross non league) are steadily growing. As for ho will make the step up to run the clubs... I honestly feel the players and referees will make the step up, there is a huge number of young people who love non-league football. I am one of them.

People who tend to run clubs are in their twiglight years due to them having more time (and money(?)) to invest into the club. Working 9-5 and also be on a board at a club isn't as easy as when you're retired.

That isn't new money from the FA just a projection of existing commitments. It also wouldn't even cover the facilities upgrades for London on its own. Massive smokescreens from the FA.

Well if Steve Orchard or Steve Tucker do return, Prodigal Son style, to the Recreation Ground then the good times will soon be back like in 2006/2007 and 2007/2008

I wonder what Steve Orchard and Steve Tucker both think of New Bradwell St Peter’s current plight

too many Club's nowadays are relying on too few key committee men.

It only takes one or two of them to become disenchanted and leave for the Club to end up in trouble like New Bradwell.

There are too many Club's having to rely on too few old stagers to keep them running. Where are the next generation of Club Officials

going to come from?? Not enough Clubs are devoting enough attention to succession planning!.

A very good point and in around 10 years time lots of clubs could well have trouble finding good committee people and club officals to be a part of there clubs.

You had hit the nail on the head grunt take tonight for example we will prob have a 70 year old on the gate freezing cold night with so called committee members propping up the bar or at home !

They dont make them like they used to thats for sure.

A good point and very true.

The only reason i have time to be a part of Hanwell Town FC is that i now work part-time.

Bradwell will be fine. They will get relegated, rebuild, get promoted back up to Div 1 and move forward again. It happens to many a club, especially at this level. And I'm sure New Bradwell wont be the last club to hit a rough patch and bounce back.

No one ever gets relegated anymore.

That's because Club's with floodlights can call the tune
