What is the biggest derby game on the 27th ...

Recommended Posts

If I wasn't who I was, and knowing what I know, my game of choice on Tuesday would have been South Park v Horley. Both are clubs that I have an enormous amount of respect for - even if there are way too many Palace fans for my liking!

But instead, I will be on one of the turnstiles at Stag Meadow so please either say hello or hurl abuse. I really don't mind either way. Plus, on the programme front, we have a full colour 48 page special packed full of fun and information.

A bit of advice though for anyone coming by car. The Stag Meadow car park will fill up quickly so we have arranged for the Trevelyan School to be opened in order that cars can be parked. It is only a short walk from the ground. I strongly advise anyone coming to avoid street parking as there is a strictly enforced residents parking scheme in place throughout the town.

And, I have it on good authority that there will be plenty of real ale available.

Has to be SouthPark vs Horley Town lots of players having played for Horley at SouthPark. Also see on their Forumn they want to charge £20 entry for Horley Fans, we doubled the gate when they played Windsor and our game was off. ;)

Some really good games on the 27th was really tempted by Knaphill v Westfield BUT I have decided to go to Windsor V Egham Town ...hoping for a good game !

Yes this game is my choice as well.

I just hope that everyone who watches is hungry and buys a burger and a tea then a pint after which hopefully will cost more than £6.00 to cover the Free Admission fee ............lol !!!

It might cost more than £6 but this is the old trick used by people trying to justify getting in for nothing (I'm not including you in that Nicey). £6 on the gate minus VAT (if it's charged and paid) = £5 to the club net. If the club isn't VAT registered then it's £6 net.

£6 on food and drink probably equals about £2 or so profit to the club after costs, taxes etc.

Obviously this Windsor game is a bit different as they're choosing to let everyone in for free but some people need to realise that you have to spend about £15-18 inside the ground to make up for the £6 entry fee they haven't paid.

I often do spend that much. My usual outlay is Programme (£1-2), biggest burger they do (£2-4), chips (£1), soft drink (£1), two beers (£7-9). Expensive (and fattening) business watching football! :)

The residents parking scheme doesn't extend as far as Bulkeley Avenue [which is almost opposite the ground] and the side roads off it, just in case both car parks fill up !

As Cilla would say SUPRISE SUPRISE,NICE GUY LOVES A FREEBIE.Will the INVISIBLE MAN have his Face Painted though?Bommie £7-9 for 2 pints, even I could not get drunk on them prices, its a Football Club not a Night Club.Hope there is a massive crowd though, just to reward the effort put in.And an Egham victory would put the icing on the cake for me.

The standard price for a pint of Windsor & Eton Brewery Guardsman / Knight of the Garter is £3.20. Can't vouch for the burgers but the pies are exceptional value at £2.50 - the profits of which go to the Mayor's Charity. As for other items of food, please see the attached link:

If you have bothered to read my posts, you will have read that I in theory cannot understand why Windsor can afford to permit Free Admission on such a high profile top of the league clash, but if you're going along with the rest of us makle sure you don't eat vbefore you go !
