Beaconsfield v Slough Town

Thought I'd start a new thread for this game.

IMO it has the makings of the game of the season.

Beaconsfield have Charlie MPI, Tyrone Sealey and Yiadom Yeboah playing for them who will all be busting a gut to put one over on us.

Add to that ex-Windsor Fiston Manuella, Victor Osubu and ex-Yeading Nev Soroya.

Plus IMO an attendance of possibly 500+.

All adds up to a mouth-watering prospect of a game.

It has the makings of an absolute cracker!

Obviously, I expect us to go out there and beat our Landlords, however, as it's an away game on paper, coming away with a draw will also be a tremendous result!

Didn't realise Yeboah was at SYCOB, that could play into our hands big time, never rated him, thought he was clumsy, disorganised and never got out with the defence!

Yads is no spring chicken (must be mid thirties) so speed is not his forte. His main attributes are his heading and his long throw-in which for some reason never worked for us.

to hit 500+ we would be relying a lot on local football fans coming along as Beaconsfield wont hit 40 like every time we play them i'd imagine

feels to me almost inevitable that the game will be postponed due to weather destroying the hugeness of the game

Beaconsfield's highest gate this season is 120 with an average of 85.

Being a top of the table clash and Boxing day, not unreasonable to think B'field will have 150.

If Slough have say minimum 300 that only leaves 50 floaters to find which doesn't seam unreasonable for a Boxing day match.

Weather looks like being mild for the weekend, so providing between now and then the pitch is tended to hopefully the match should be on.

Ah yes, but Marcus remember we are not at home, they are so pitch should be ok.

Hi David, there is usually extra parking in the field opposite the entrance to the football club car park, also you are more than welcome to float with us Slough fans

Another pain staking observation, this game could potentially yield a crowd of between 500-600 but SYCOB will get the gate receipts!!!

We'll have 400-450 of those fans, they won't be coming to watch SYCOB!!!

Attendance of 400-500 feels about right. Great game in prospect. Nothing against SYCOB but I miss the Boxing Day & Easter games against Windsor, where the crowd would be 600-700 as we built up a rivalry from about 2003 onwards.

Cheers fellas, very helpful. Well I'm actually an Oxford Utd supporter, but couldn't get tickets for our game, and seeing as you play in 'gods own colours' I'm sure I'll find it difficult to sit on the fence!

Looking forward to it, I've just recently convinced the missus (Palace diehard) that there's some decent football to be seen outside the glamourous world of the 'league'.

There was a big rivalry long before that, I remember big games and 1800 crowds for Windsor / Slough games when they were both in the equivalent of the conference south division (1984 / 85 onwards ) There were also many more local players playing for both teams which also made these games much more intense.
