I see the 'Slough Town FC' Facebook page has over 600 fans on it now. I was just wondering if anyone here owns that facebook page? If so is it possible to make that make a little bit more unprivate. like no one can write on the wall or add their own photos or videos, we can only comment and like the post the admin makes.

 

Plus it would be great to see fans commenting on it about the latest game, news, fixtures and even views from other clubs fans. The admin could also upload links and pictures from the local press or from Horsham's amazing photos, have quizes, and offer a lot more information about the club.

 

I remember when i first went on the Facebook Page, it was rather dull and wasn't much to do on it besides look at posts by the admin.

 

I am owner and admin of a page about our amazing town Slough with over 7,000 fans on it, it's very easy to manage and you have full control on what to remove and what to keep.

I would have thought that comments and discussions about the game are best kept on here. The issue with opening it up to comments is it then has to be moderated and that takes time. It is better left as a means of communicating information I'd have thought. Fair play to you adil if you've got a page promoting slough though.

looking into why majority of those 600+ "fans" dont come to games could be a good idea. more promotion of games etc

Yeah, but a lot probably don't live in Slough. Slough's twitter feed has 931 followers, be great if they all came to the games but some live in America or follow other clubs like me.

totally understandable Brighton but im sure there is a decent amount who live in and around this area and still do not come along. i know us not being in Slough is always going to be a major problem of course as well

Unfortunately there is also a big difference between clicking on a box marked "like" and actually bothering to go!

totally understandable Tristan the fact you get to any games is a superb effort

 

i just feel surely there is a whole host of potential fans in the area especially the younger generation that we need to find ways to try and attract to games

I just feel like we could use that page to attract a lot more fans. Lets be fair, a lot of people don't know Slough has a football team and when you mention it to them they think on sunday league? or a team thats so low in the league system that they'd be 90 if slough get constant pomotion.

I think the admin should attract more fans by promoting the page a little bit more, maybe on the Slough Express or something. and could also put information about directions, next match information, photos and videos.

I know if it does become a more open page then topics might be slow on here but it hits a wider community and tbf how many people do you know that are part of a forum of something they enjoy.

I only joined this forum becuase admin on the facebook page told me about it.

 

so whoever is the admin of that page please make it more public with more information and allow people to comment and post on it. Leave the promotion to me, i can attract a few more hundered likes on that page i reckon. and i'm sure someone at the club can put something on the slough express.

Yes i understand that all topics should be on here but the facebook page can be used to attract more fans and reach out to potential fans, and this will benefit the club very much,
