Bedworth

Have to agree with the comments, Bedworth were the best team I've seen so far this season. It would have been interesting to see how they would have withstood the 2nd half with Ian Roper in their side. I was also particularly impressed with their number 7.

I'd like to see Swift get a run of games now, he was a regular in the side up until he missed a game a few weeks back and then hasn't really had a look in. As good a player as Herron is he really hasn't looked up to it recently, whether it's through lack of fitness or interest Swift should be starting ahead of him.

Bedworth are the best side I have seen in our league. The turning point was the sending off I believe, as after

that we came out all guns blazing in the second half. Really looking forward to Beaconsfield now.

Apparently SB was at the Beaconsfield v Chalfont match so should be well aware that they have reportedly the quickest forwards/midfield players in this division.

Will be interesting to see how we line-up and cope with their pace.

Match report from the Bedworth website, wonder if any of the comments will be retracted following photographic evidence:

The Greenbacks suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat at Slough today after the controversial sending off of striker Ashley Robinson changed the game.

Robinson had fired us into a 37th minute lead when he was shown a second yellow card just three minutes later for a supposed foul on goalkeeper James Warrington

Down to 10 men, the Greenbacks then conceded two scrappy second-half goals in the 64th and 70th minutes - their winner also coming amid great controversy.

One of the assistant referees ruled the ball had crossed the line in a goalmouth scramble - sparking bitter protests from Greenbacks players.

A number of Slough supporters, who stood behind the goal, conceded afterwards that the ball did not go even half-an-inch over the line.

I don't think Bedworth have anything to retract.

'Bitter protests from Greenback players' is a normal reaction from any teams players on such an important debatable decision.

The fact that a number of Slough Supporters, stood behind the goal, said that the ball did not go even half-an-inch over the line, added a lot more credence to their protests and proves how difficult it can be to get these decisions right even when your only a few yards away.

So full credit to the Ref's assistant for getting a major decision correct.

I was in the perfect position to see the disputed foul, about 7 metres away and side on to the play. Warrington got the ball, and their 10 got him. No attempt to pull out or go over, his foot went directly in, firm and hard. He was lucky only to get a yellow.

I found quite a few of the Bedworth fans rather undignified in defeat, sporting is not a descrption that comes readily to mind.

As for the goals, the goalmouth was so crowded I couldn't see the ball most of the time, so I have no idea.

I did, just after posting, and both are clearly goals.

I am sure we are all biased, but the Bedworth fans didn't just get it a bit wrong, they got it all wrong. Well done to the officials who clearly have better eyesight than me, and a lot better than the Bedworth fans. Makes a nice change to praise the officials, who got it mostly right in difficult situations.

of course there will be bias but in football comments after losing sometimes go to borderline ridiculous. thats the game though i suppose.

has been plenty of games we have pointed blame at the ref after getting results that maybe we didnt feel we deserved. whether to our opponents or neutrals we have a point every time to arguments who knows. i do know not 1 person would have contested our arguments about the AFC Hayes match officials

Bedworth only have themselves to blame for losing as has been said by the unbiased comments made so far by the superb supporters of Slough Town.

Not like their supporters near the dug-outs whose language was shocking from the first minute its the first time i have seen some of our most mild manored unbiased supporters get so irate and in a slanging match with opposing fans.

Yes their no 10 deserved to be sent off, yes their forwards caused our defence major problems and yes even with 10 men they made enough chances to have won the game by half time but they did'nt.

Slough were superb in the second half with Swifty making a big difference and like Bedworth we missed some other great chances but we were still lucky with the 1st goal as it should of been 'retaken' as the ball was nowhere near the corner 'D' when taken but hey it was'nt and we made the most of it now that is my unbiased view.

Come on up the REBELS

Now you can't say that was a biased view of the game

We all get the hump when our teams lose games, that perhaps they should if won. Particularly if they made the chances to win and didn't take them. When we played Bedworth (they beat us 2-1) it was a good game. Very even. Our centre half slipped, misjudged an over the top ball and their centre forward made the most of it. Literally this won them the game. Ian Roper ex Wallsall captain with 300 league appearances to his name was excellent for them. We were miffed, but it was a close game and excellent to watch. When we played you and lost, we didn't turn up! Yes two of our most influential players were missing that day, both central midfielders (Sear to Injury, Junior Kanadu to a trial at Bournemouth) and both have been excellent in the middle of the park together. Yes we drove back to St Neots miffed at losing to you, but we didn't play anywhere like what we are capable of! It was one of them days. However, losing to Hayes after dominating the game for 90 mins was gut wrenching and hard to take. Sour grapes doesn't begin to tell the story. I still think the winners will come from one us 3 though.
