Decent result for SP today, matching the scoreline from when we last met Wembley, only this time it was in our favour. We started quickly, with Dave Smith finishing just inside the box, after our midfield capitalised on some sloppy play from Wembley. It was 2-0 after Matt Ward hit a worldy from 25 yards and could have been more with Chris Smith failing to finish from a 1 on 1 and a penalty appeal turned down for handball, although I think this would have been harsh.

Second half we started quick again, with Jack Stafford feeding a perfectly timed ball through for Chris Smith to bag his 10th of the season. Last 25 minutes saw Wembley go 3 up front, which meant that they were beginning to create more chances but we were holding our own and not really looking like conceeding.......until injury time, when Wozza saved from their number 10, pushing on to the post, coming back, hitting him in the face and trickling over the line.

Unusual comment for me.....thought all 3 officials..........were..............very good! 1 or 2 strange ones, but on the whole I thought they were very good. Talked to players and were respectful, as well as explaining decisions at times and generally seemed to get most calls right in favour of both teams.

Next up Horley, which appears to be one that a lot of our players are looking forward, as I think a fair few used to play there!

Isn't this at least the 3rd time SK's score has been hugely exaggerated ? As well as being a bunch of dirty tw+ts they also have some dick sending results like that on a regular basis. Can't wait to see Guernsey stick aqt least 6 past them over here.

It's the secretarys job to text the results in. Maybe they just can't use their phone or have fat fingers.

The fa results site is done via text. This isnt the first time its happened and to be honest i doubt if any of them can count to ten. A quick look at the website gives an indication of their grammar skills.

Ash Utd 4 Hanworth Villa 1

Well that's an early christmas pressie for the club, the team played well all over the pitch. Yes we may have played Hanworth on a bad at the office but credit to all the Ash players they made Hanworth look bad yesterday.

An even first half saw Ash open the scoring on the 1/2hour mark when a freekick was deflected past the helpless keeper. Ash increased the lead early in the 2nd before Hanworth replied quickly. Game in the balance but Ash were awarded a pen, (so glad for the houses at the back off the goal for being there, stopped the ball going even further over). Then a mistake by the Hanworth keeper saw us go further in front & we rounded the scoring off in the last minute.

A result that has been coming as we've been playing well just not getting the breaks, but will be honest didn't expect it today. Lets hope we can now carry on & slowly but surely climb the table.........time will tell

Also credit to Hanworth they took defeat properly, which can't be said about other teams

Article in this week's Windsor Express might help answer those questions...

Windsor FC’s founding director Kevin Stott insists the club is not living beyond its means following the recent captures of the likes of Jake Parsons, Andrew Fagan and Michael Chennells.

The trio of players were all key parts of the Windsor & Eton side when the club went bust in 2010, with debts running into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

News of their return has raised eyebrows among the local football community, especially as Windsor beat the likes of Slough Town and Chesham United to the signing of Chennells last week.

But Stott insists the budget he set at the start of the season has not been raised and that the players have not returned to Stag Meadow for financial reasons.... yeah right, whatever Mr. Stott .... and with a budget alledgedly being £1800 a week perhaps you can afford such players! On that budget you should be expected to win the CCL Premier if you don't questions should be raised to Mr. Scott as to why !

He said: “Inevitably I can see why people are talking but I can guarantee we are not paying any of them what they were being paid last time (at Windsor & Eton).

“They have come back because they want to be part of what we are trying to achieve here, it’s not because we are throwing money around.

“I set a budget at the start of the season and I haven’t raised that budget. Keith Scott is working within it and the players who have come in are prepared to work within it as well.

“It’s the vision of the club and the ambitions we have for it that they are buying into.”

When Windsor FC was formed in the summer, Stott always said he wanted to stay away from a business model which saw one benefactor putting money in to ensure the club stayed afloat.

Self-sustainability has always been the long-term goal and the club has plans to install 3G astroturf pitches and a gym at Stag Meadow in the near future.

And Stott insists that is still very much the case. He said: “I always said I would fund the start up costs and that’s what I’m going to do.

“But I don’t have any grand designs to be the sugar daddy of a football club, that doesn’t work.

“So if we’re not given the go ahead to develop the ground and do what we want to do, I’m not going to be doing it again next season or the season after next.

“That doesn’t mean we won’t have a football club next year, we just won’t have a budget that we could sustain in a higher division.”

Windsor’s founding director added: “But I would be gutted now if we don’t manage to pull off what we’re trying to do, I think it’s a model for non-league football.

“We’re trying to do something different, not repeat the same mistakes. We’re on the road to self-sustainability.

“I don’t want to be just another football club who had a dream, drew some pretty pictures but then saw nothing happen.

“We want to take the club forward and we’re all working very hard to make sure we do it in the right way.”

Windsor rather ominously won 10-0 today.

:D Michael Chennells scored 5 on his home debut.

Isn't that the player Slough, Chesham, Harrow and Arlesey couldn't afford?

Isn't that the player who had trials with Brentford and Crawley Town...................after injury Channells is just happy playing football again in the CCL Premier.................what !

Stuck for something to do yesterday, I went to watch Pure Town FC v Old Rutlishians in the Surrey SE Combination as a friend of mine was in the middle. The home side won 7-1 and were pretty good value against a very poor Ruts side.

Then I went to a pub in Stoneleigh (very nice) to watch a load of overpaid prima donna cack embarrass the beautiful game (could not believe the moaning about the Wigan pitch).

Give me non-league proper football any day!

Must say TRS great footage as usual and as we can all clearly see, their No. 9 was clearly onside. On behalf of W.Park I would like to apologise to the AR for what is a great call. I think it was just the fraustration of getting it back to 2-2 and then being 3-2 down. Their no.9 caused us problems all afternoon even on his own up top and is a very good player.

No disrespect to Frimley, but why is Dan Simmonds playing there? Also, didn't recognise many of the WP players, what's happened to them this season?

I chose to go to this game today and it looked evenly matched. So a point to both is about right. But your point Milesy4 "No disrespect to Frimley, but why is Dan Simmonds playing there" the two comments contradict each other. If your saying he should be at a better club then that could be seen by the FG team as disrespectful unless you quantify exactly what your saying. Are you saying he should be at a club that starts every season at home late due to cricket. But I guess that is why WP are not classed as a senior club. As an independant it bothers me not.

Allow me to quantify - I know Dan and I know he has played at a higher level and having played in the CCL for the past 3 seasons, I am simply surprised he has chosen to go to FG compared to where he has played previously.

I dont think anyone has classed WP as not being a 'senior club,' on the contrary in fact where I think a lot of people on this forum have a lot of respect for them.

Are you saying he should be at a club that starts every season at home late due to cricket. - what are you talking about? No I am not.

I guess I will wait for someone from FG to tell me, but apologies for the lack of clarity in my comment.

WP have always started there home fixtures later than other clubs as their pitch is used for cricket. I think I'm right in saying (apologies to WP if wrong) that they have not been classed by the FA as a senior club due to this point and possibly others.

What has that got to do with my comment? I asked what's happened to them, as in it didn't look like the same team they have had the last few seasons, they aren't up there in the top 5 like they consistently have been. Are YOU saying, that it is because of this whole 'cricket season'

And the fact people don't class them as a senior side, that players have left? I just don't get your point.

yes we have lost a few players from last season. Our No. 1 retired last season (although every cloud has a silver lining for me :D ), and we lost two very influential centre halfs which is why our defence has been a bit leaky this season. We have added a couple of players who look very strong but unfortunately, we hit a rut which we haven't properly come out of yet.

With regards to the cricket, it is because we are an athletic club that we have other sports at the club. unfortunately we do have to start our home games later in the season which the players don't like either. We would like to have a few more home games at the start of the season but unfortunately we can't and there isn't anything we can do about it unless we ground share which is why we possibly wouldn't be considered to be a senior club although I have no idea what the criteria is to be classed as one. Obviously winning the league and not being able to go up due to the ground not being up to scratch states that we aren't a senior club!

£1800 a week budget? What on Earth makes you think it's that much?

Cos I know Roth. Listen, do you honestly think that the decent Windsor players are playing for £20-30 a week.............maybe Chennells is......behave ! I know of 4 players who are on +£100.00 with bonus and the management are being paid from the budget as well.

Now answer me this Spraky, Roths. On Saturday against Raynes Park Vale (with respect not one of the high flyers) you got a reputed 239 crowd slightly above average, now that maybe due to Chennells arrival/debut or cos there were a few postponements, so lets assume that those 239 were paying customers @ £6.00 per head = £1434.00 + bar, T-Bar takings, Merchandise etc., so its feasible that would all pay to cover the playing budget okay.

Now against Egham (currently 4th) next Bank Holiday Tuesday Windsor are allowing FREE ADMISSION....why ! Perhaps can someone explain how they intend to raise the money to pay for the players budget? Does one think that the bar, T-bar takings . merchandise etc., will pay for it ..... mmmnn let me work that out ? Yes, nice gesture to the supporters, also a nice gesture if the players will play for nothing as a Xmas present to the club then it all makes sense !

Just thinking out loud or perhaps Windsor do have the coffers in the bank to allow this to happen ? ....... Its good that a club of Windsors magnitude can afford the above and sell bloody loads of cups of tea, burgers and hot dogs !

Is that good management skills ? ...............All makes way for interesting comments........
