Christmas Draw fund raising and race night !!!!

Hi All,

The turn out last night was a little disappointing, a lot of effort had been put into the event at the new club house at Farnham Park. We understand times are hard and its a very expensive time of the year but we had less than 30 people in attendance, which made fund raising difficult. However we appreciate the work done by our supporters and the tickets sold for the draw was still fantastic.

Its just a shame that A full on free buffet had been kindly donated by Lional and his wife Margret and the Youth section had made all the kids that attended last night very welcome.

We also appreciate that maybe we need to re-organise a different Type of event, maybe for next year and also maybe a different format. (any ideas please ?) which of course don't use huge amounts of money to get them organised !

Alan Harding will advise the winners of the Christmas draw soon...

For those who turned up.. were interested to see 2 signing on's ..were made with Steve Bateman turning up to put the final signatures onto the forms...

Cheers Chris Sliski

Happy Christmas to you all......from Slough Town Supporters Trust.

Oh do tell you teases.....

Sorry not to make it, but I didn't leave the office until 7.30pm so couldn't make it down there in time for the start.

I wonder if perhaps scheduling it earlier in the month might work better to avoid clashes with other things. I know that there are a lot of work dos scheduled for tonight and it may be that people are having to pick one or the other. For the record I'm not going to mine either.

Also from a personal perspective Thursdays aren't great nights for me and I wonder if maybe another day in the week would work better or maybe even a Friday or a Saturday after a home

Well done to all those who put the effort in and for the money raised.

I think a Friday or a Sat is a good point, also any new ideas would be welcome, just need to make sure it doesnt cost to much to lay on in the first place.

Just have to mention that the funniest thing last night was young master Lathey putting his hand up to bid for a horse, to Ian and Kay's relief no one took is seriously, it was so funny.

To be honest, I think it's difficult for a lot of people to make midweek events due to work committments or otherwise. Especially at this time of year.

In addition I think the Trust needs to do more to publicise itself and the event's it organises. Other than the message that I placed on the forum a few days back I don't remember anything being done to alert people to the events, unless I missed them.

Flyers could be handed out at games or placed inside programmes for example. I know Roy does a tannoy announcement for things but how many people miss these by going into the bar at half time? Perhaps they could produce a calendar of events for 2012 so people know in advance?

Some variety in the type of events wouldn't go amiss either. I understand people put in a lot of hard work to organise things but people have been to race nights or quiz nights particularly often, something else might revive interest?
