Train to Grimsby (cleethorpes)

Eastside Urchin

Recommended Posts

Just spoke to a couple of fans who have booked the train already via Trainline.com

They are getting the 08.30 from Kings Cross which gets into Cleethorpes at 11.50 or 11.55am,just in time for Fish and Chips,a few pints etc etc

Then on the way home, train leaves around 6.30 and gets back into Kings Cross around 10.15pm.

This is probably what I and a few others will do,numbers for the train look impressive with well over 40 going up by train already apparently

If your coming by train and you like your real ale then make sure you pop into The No.2 Refreshment Rooms on Cleethorpes station. Only a very small place but is Camra listed and usually has a good selection of real ales on.

Hi Harry....wasn't this bar visited by Oz Clarke and James May when they towed that caravan on their pub crawl?

No, that was The Signal Box Inn, the worlds smallest pub, which is part of The Cleethorpes Light Railway. It's doesn't open during the winter and will re-open next Easter.

There's only room for about half a dozen people inside so that's part of the reason why it doesn't open in the winter as you nearly always have to stand or sit outside. It also attract a lot of day trippers too as it's very close to Pleasure Island Theme Park which also closes over the winter months.
