GRIMSBY AWAY SATURDAY 14TH JANUARY

Eastside Urchin

Recommended Posts

MARINERS joint manager Rob Scott says Isthmian League Premier Division side AFC Hornchurch won't be taken lightly in next month's FA Trophy tie.

The Urchins beat Blue Square Bet South side Farnborough to earn a trip to Blundell Park on January 14.

Scott said: "All you ask for in any cup draw is a home tie and we have one.

"It's a long way off and while we looked out for the replay result on Wednesday, we haven't look that far ahead yet.

"We will do our due diligence on Hornchurch before that game."

Well that was a strange game yesterday. 3-0 up after 12 minutes playing some great passing football which could have brought a couple more goals before our keeper decided to gift Ebbsfleet a goal by dwelling on the ball and then kicking it straight at the Ebbsfleet player who was closing him down and the ball went into the net of the strikers backside. They then made it 3-2 shortly after but then in the 2nd half we restored our 2 goal lead with an excellent passing move from one end of the field to the other.

They then had a stonewall penalty turned down and as our lad had already been booked he should have walked, Ref waved the appeals away though but they did grab a 3rd in the last minute of normal time and then our keeper made a great save right at the death. From being 3-0 up and cruising and just a case of how many it would be, we ended up hanging on for dear life.

2818 there yesterday with 32 from Ebbsfleet.

It will still look empty lol

although we will double the amount darlo & salisbury brought and some and make more noise than they would as well.

Do you have undersoil heating ??

No, just a cover. Our away end is very good for acoustics. It's a covered stand and even the 32 Ebbsfleet fans could be heard loud ans clear on Saturday.
