Will this be a fans only coach?

Morning chaps. Firstly well done on your win at Farnborough last night and I hope you're all now looking forward to your trip oop norf.

I assume that Blundell Park will be a new ground for all of you (unless there are a few groundhoppers amongst you) so just a bit of info for you all.

If you are coming by car the ground is fairly easy to find. When you reach the end of the A180 just follow signs for Cleethorpes, stay on the main road and you'll come to the ground on your left hand side right next to a McDonalds about a mile and a half after you go over the flyover as you come into Grimsby. No parking at the ground but there is plenty of street parking on the many side streets off Grimsby Road. As for pubs there is The Imp right next to the ground which has been closed for the last couple of months but I understand that it could be open again by the time of our game. This has always been a home fans only pub but since we have been in the BSP there does seem to be a far more friendlier atmosphere in there and I have seen quite a few away fans in there over the last couple of season and I'm sure your fans would have no problems. There is also The Blundell Park Hotel just across the road from McDonalds which usually welcomes away fans too. As the bar area is rather small it does get busy, even moreso since The Imp has been closed. Other than that, if you arrive early I'd recommend continuing past the ground and going to Cleethorpes Seafront where there are plenty of pubs and places to eat. Just carry on past the ground until you come to a roundabout, go straight on and up the hill and you're then in Cleethorpes High Street with the Market Place on your right.

If you fancy enjoying our famous fish n chips I'd recommend Steels Corner House in The Market Place for a sit down meal (is a bit of an old fashioned place, but it is licenced and their Jumbo Haddock, Chips and Mushy Peas is legendary) or for takeaway Ernie Becketts just opposite Steels. The Ocean Fish Bar in nearby St.Peters Ave is also recommended and if you are short for time there is always The Mariners Fish Bar near the ground but the quality there is not as good as the aforementioned places. Wherever you decide though remember to have haddock, in these parts cod is only fit for pet food and Yorkies. icon_biggrin.gif

If any of you are arriving by train then remember that Cleethorpes is the nearest station to the ground. There are 2 excellent real ale pubs at the station, The Number 2 or Under The Clock as it's known locally which although very small always has a large selection of real ales and also The Number 1 (not very imaginitive with the names round here are we) which also serves decent beer. If you come out of the main station entrance and turn right, walk up the pedestrianised hill and you'll find The High Street to your left at the top of the hill and if any of you are staying overnight you'll find plenty of B&B on Isaacs Hill most of which are only £20-£25 per night.

We definitely won't be taking you lightly and I'm sure our scouts will be watching your forthcoming games. We've been in freefall really and it was only 10 years ago that we knocked Liverpool out of The League Cup at Anfield but apart from a home win over Spurs in the same competition about 5 years ago the last 10 years have been totally miserable. Tuesday night's defeat to Salisbury was another low point in our proud history.

Any other questions just ask.

Safe journey to all travelling but I hope that you will be returning home disappointed.

UTM.

Do stick around for some banter :)

Thinking about it you probably won't come in on the A180, it will be more likely you'll come up the A1 and the A46 via Lincoln. In that case just follow signs for Cleethorpes when you come into Grimsby and the ground is signposted at all the major junctions from the end of the dual carriageway.

.....straight into our trap! (joke)

Seems like a nice man but we all know that we are keeping May 12th free, no Urchin worth his salt is to be on holiday that weekend

If you are taking children, then consider getting a family railcard - two adults and up to 4 children - you need at least one minor and then you can each save money on the ticket.

http://www.familyand...rd.co.uk/online will give you 10% off until the end of the year.

And don't forget the nearest station to the ground is Cleethorpes NOT Grimsby Town.
