Enfield Town v Thamesmead

Happy to see that I was wrong about the curse of the known fact.

Was that the highest average age increase of a team ever when Bryan Hammett replaced Neil Johnson?

Not sure, but I would have thought the club will let everyone know.

2011/2012

How about drawing up a list of all the local primary/junior schools and informing them that individual

schools can access specific Saturday games at nil cost for children and 50% off for accompanying adults

May as well start the ball rolling now rather than leave it until the end of the summer holidays,

especially as the Olympics will be on everyone's agenda.

The oportunities are endless with this idea plus local youth clubs and junior football etc

Has been suggested a few time.

Surprised we have not offered half price season tickets as other Clubs have done.

These ideas have been suggested a few times over the past few years but as much as it is a good idea it is also very time consuming in the way of having leaflets designed, printed and then distributed to local primary schools but then I guess we all live in various parts of the borough (as well as further afield) and if we were given a bunch of leaflets we could drop them off to schools locally to us and share the load. Yes I'm sure we all want to see 500+ attendances but we also cant rely on the board to promote OUR club, the board are volunteers and have full time jobs alongside keeping OUR club going especially with all the hard work put in recently with the QE stadium. Maybe its time for US fans who wish to see attendances grow help out a bit by promoting our club at these schools. I for one would be more than happy to visit a few local schools to give out leaflets.

On another note it was nice to see another 300+ crowd on Saturday bearing in mind I did not see one Thamesmead fan and as Andy said previously a very cold day and last Saturday before Christmas this was very encouraging to have that sort of attendance. I'm sure had this game been played at Brimmo we would have seen less than 200 through the gates.

I agree SC, these are previously stated idea's and now the board and the many volunteers who have made our stadium possible it is over to the idea makers to form their groups and make their idea's real.

The 300+ gate is good, way above the average for our level and may that continue with the type of performances and results like the one on Saturday. Being joint top for X-Mas is only a start and foundation to build on in the second half of the season, but one thing we can all do is grab a mate/friend/neighbour/work colleague/mistress and bring them to a game and a beer next time round, the best advert is talking about the club/success (to date) and let word of mouth do the talking, if you know what I mean.

Well done Steve and the lads on Saturday, The Cold End's clips made very impressive viewings, now for the Abbey and nothing less than 3 pts there too, beware of complacency.
