5 points clear

Ok so we are five points clear BUT

Lowestoft have two games in hand and Hornchurch one and they still have to play all the thirteen rubbish teams we have beaten. We are still playing hoofball and the white lines are getting closer to each other. Our corners, free kicks and throws aren't working (except for last night) We have two midfielders playing at full back and two full backs on the bench. Lefties on the right and righties on the left. Our midfield isn't working and we have lost Xavi Semakula and Villa Knight. It's a mess.

BUT it's not all bad. :)

Meeeowwww!

5 points clear, 15 in front of where we were last season, and a couple of easy games coming up. ^_^

I think all our games will be hard from now on in, and while we remain top, every team will up their game against us.

We haven't recaptured our early season form yet, but the good thing is, unlike last season, we're still picking up points.

10 booking's?... a keenly contested derby, but never a 10 booking game. I wonder if it had anything to with there being an assessor in attendance

Ground out a good result against a revitalised Aveley side. Great to see Harrison, Junior and Onyabike running at their defence, at any level of football defenders hate it and especially in the second half we put that pace and ability to good use.

I felt in the last couple of games we haven't played with much confidence but once we took the lead in the second half I felt that the team rose up another level and players began to believe in themselves a little more.

Sad news re Edwards, I do hope its not as bad as feared but with this injury the need for another midfielder is paramount to see us through a tricky Christmas period.

Mixed feelings with regards to Knight last night, but it seems he took up the challenge and knocked one in for New Lodgers benefit.

5 points clear and a much improved performance. Well done boys.

Unbeaten at New Lodge all season and a 2-1 home win sends us 5 points clear at the top of the league. Barely a sausage said. A mingy draw with Margate and it's gloves on. What a strange bunch we've become!

I don't care how we do it, how many long throws it takes or how wide the pitch is, we need to get out of this poxy league cos its killing us. Hopefully Oates, Hawes and Sobers will get a run out in the reserves tonight and give us some options for saturday.

An excellent result for us and I thought we were better value than the final scoreline suggested.

I was surprised to see us start with two wingers. The only previous time we have tried that this season we were two down after twenty minutes. It turned out to be a good move though as the re-introduction of Emeka and H to the starting line-up added the youthful enthusiasm that we were possibly missing on Saturday. I think it shows the benefit of having a good balance of youth and experience but also the ability to use our squad as required.

I thought we tried to pass the ball around in the first half and were easily the better side. We let in a bad goal, but managed to nick one from a long throw on our narrow pitch to re-establish the lead. We were still the better side, but we missed some very presentable opportunites to extend our advantage and as a result got a bit twitchy and "direct" as the game went on.

It was good to see Tony Boot make an appearance and see Lee and Jason and some of the ex-Blues players that Aveley had. Big Ced was a gent as always. Disappointing to hear that CE Jnr may have picked up a bad injury, especially having got himself fit following a lenghty absence. Hopefully it turns out not to be as bad as first feared.

Concord on Saturday will be a difficult game for us. They always seem to raise their game against us for some reason  . If we worry about us and not worry about them, hopefully we'll be ok.

Great to be back to winning ways, with the points on the board. Come on you Blues!!

I thought we played much better than Saturday and deserved the win, could have been more but their defence especially their keeper kept us out. Ref was a over zealous with the cards. We are top and have the points in the bag, the rest have to earn them.

What is Craigs injury?

This assessment has cheered me up no end. If we do get it right eventually, then the title could be ours before Easter.

Perhaps New Lodger can lead the chant " We're crap, We're top of the league, We're having a larf"
