The GFC secretary is quoted in the local paper as saying the earliest a game can be called off is tea time Friday... Guess GFC have received special dispensation to call it off on Thursday.

Cue outrage from Smudge. :)

A very sensible decision in my eyes,Guernsey has had much worse weather, than here in the U.K.

Top post Smudge!

Just seen the forecast for tonight... Worse than last night which was pretty bad and woke me at 4am.

I am taking your post at face value...

In the local papers GFC have said an early decision was made at the request of Spelthorne who had a number fans due to arrive in Guernsey today. Decision was made also consulting CCL.

If they have booked under the GFC umbrella (i.e. through their travel agent) they would get rebooked when the game is reschedlued as do GFC supporters travelling to the UK. I dont think you could expect GFC to cover those make their own way across as that would be open to abuse.

Taken from the Travel Agents website

TravelSolutions are pleased to have been appointed official travel managers for Guernsey FC.

As well as organising travel for away matches and visiting teams we are pleased to be able to announce that we have successfully completed negotiations with travel suppliers to provide supporters with preferential booking conditions for flights and hotels.

These conditions include free baggage and special rules allowing free flight changes should a match be postponed or cancelled as well as reduced fares on some flights. We have also negotiated rates with airport hotels allowing similar conditions and reduced rates.

Match tickets will also be included.

Common sense prevails and enough notice given so other plans for the weekend can be made. Well done everyone!
