When would the proposed changes come into being.

Season after next - so where you finish next season (points per game) and/or your ground grading status will be extra important

...which will include the playing surface!

Argumentum ad populum ... nothing more...

In this case, ad pabulum.

But, you know, one is what one eats.

Thanks for your kind comments VP, did the donation the 'new' club made following your burglary help at all ?

You will be pleased to know that the club can supply accounts for that financial year having been formed on February 3rd 2011, albeit as a non-playing club until August !

I wasn't aware of that. I hope the club thanked you. If someone at the club had told me I would have publicly thanked you on the CTFC Twitter and unofficial website I run but, as I'm not a club official, I don't get to hear these things.

Can I just clear something up - I don't hate Windsor FC. As with all CCL clubs I'd like to see them go a long way in FA competitions whilst in the CCL. I'm on Farnborough and Aldershot's doorstep and have seen this sort of thing go on in the past and I don't think it's right and I reserve the right to have a little dig now and then. As Krooner says, when we got into £70000 of debt in the 1980s we paid it all back. Screwed the club up for years mind.

If you read TK's forum which I usually inhabit you'll see I've mentioned Windsor's free entry game against Egham next week despite it partly clashing with our game (although ours is at Cove so we won't lose punters because of it). I'm pleased to see Windsor getting decent crowds at this level as it all helps the profile of the league. If I really hated you I'd like to see you go up so that you'd be off our radar so take it as a compliment that I'd like you to stay in the CCL for another season or two!

Same as Guildford - I'll have a little dig at them because of their ground but I like the people running the club so wish them well and would love to see them get a proper ground and sustain a step 2 team which I'm sure the town of Guildford could support.

People have digs at Camberley Town on here - some justified, some not - doesn't matter in the grand scale of the universe.

Can't comment on the rest of this thread yet as I haven't read it.

Having now read the thread I see there's nothing to do with the title in it!

I don't see why clubs hide the fact that they're applying for promotion - the FA put the list on their website in early January for all to see so it can't be a secret.

This is my guess based on current league positions:-

Guildford will obviously apply. I assume they have a grade E so can go up.

Windsor will apply and have the grading

Camberley will apply and have the grading

Egham will apply and have the grading

Horley will probably apply - don't have the grading but probably only need a turnstile block?

Hanworth Villa I suspect will apply. I've only been there twice and have to say i haven't looked at the ground that closely so don't know about grading.

When you get to South Park down you're in the area of 'do they fancy their chances of a top two finish'? Taking nothing away from the sides involved, just my opinion.

South Park might apply just to see what work needs doing for a grade 'E' or 'D'.

Molesey usually apply and have the grading

Badshot Lea usually apply and, if they're staying at Godalming, have the grading.

Dorking - will they apply? fair play to them if they do - a few years at the wrong end of the table and it'd be nice to see them make a statement by applying for promotion.

Wembley - probably too far down to apply but they have the grading

From Croydon downwards I can't see anyone applying but you never know.

I'll state it now - whoever finishes top deserves to go up irrespective of ground grading, having the right paperwork or applying by the deadline. I still don't see why promotion from step 5 is the only level in the National League System that teams have to announce their intentions and get a special grading before being allowed up. At all the other levels you have until March 31st the following season to get the grading. It ain't right.

Thank you VP for actually answering my question, you are a star! :)

Only thing I'd mention is that I think that Hanworth Villa would need a lot of work to get the grading.

If and when GFC gain promotion to the Premier Division of CCL and then possibly promotion from there what are the major changes in grading that Footes Lane would need? I seem to recall we would need turnstiles?

I can see quite a few problems ahead for Footes Lane after taking a quick read of that... I am sure they have plans in place though.

The main differences between Cat G (Step 6) and Cat F (Step 5) are:

1. Spectators must be able to stand ot sit on at least 3 sides of pitch. Hard standing required on 3 sides also.

2. Minimum covered accomodation must be 200, of which 100 must be seated. This can be in more than one stand. The 100 seats must give good views and be clean. [something a lot of clubs don't bother with!!]

3. Minimum of 16 seats for Directors (home and away combined).

4. It's recommended to have permanent structures or retractable tunnels for players leaving the pitch.

5. Public address system required for all parts of ground.

6. Directors Room required for hosting away officials.
