Applications for promotion

Excuse my ignorance on this subject, how do you apply for promotion when you don't know who will be in the promotion slots?

You have to declare your interest in promotion by the due date, it dosen't matter where you are placed just that you hope to gain promotion. Then you need the correct ground grading or be able to state that the grading will be achieved by the cut off date, which I believe is at the end of February although not sure on that.

Well hopefully the chaps at your club are aware they have to apply. Be a bit embarassing otherwise. ;)

Not sure Step 6 sides need to apply for promotion to Step 5?? - I believe the League have control of those promotions. Certainly Step 5 sides need to advise their intentions if they want to play at Step 4

It's a shame Windsor can't go up this season as they keep telling us they're a new club which means they won't have the relevent paperwork for promotion.

The FA have said applicants need to provide a "Copy of latest audited or certified annual accounts (these must cover season 2010-2011 at least)".

If only they weren't a bunch of tax dodgers everything would be alright as they'd be able to supply a copy of their accounts.

Very interesting. Would this also apply to Guernsey FC? And I wonder when this ruling came into effect. I have found this little snippet on the AFC Telford website...

"On the same day that the proposed liquidation was announced, the supporters trust (Telford United Supporters Ltd) created and became the sole owners of a new football club - AFC Telford United. In the close season, manager Bernard McNally was appointed and a new squad assembled, the ground lease and assets were secured and the new club was placed in the Unibond Northern Premier Division 1 by the FA.

"In their first season, the new club finished third Unibond Northern Premier League Division 1 and beat Kendal Town in the play-off final to gain promotion."

At the end of the day, if Windsor do not finish top this whole argument becomes irrelevant as I am sure that whoever wins the league will have the sufficient ground grading for Step 4.

No - promotions Step 6 - Step 5 are controlled by the League, not the FA

Thanks for your kind comments VP, did the donation the 'new' club made following your burglary help at all ?

You will be pleased to know that the club can supply accounts for that financial year having been formed on February 3rd 2011, albeit as a non-playing club until August !

To be fair it is the general thing with football at the moment that he doesnt like and I am in agreement with him. Back in the late 70's and 80's CTFC got in a financial mess and on both occasions got out of it by paying every single penny bacl to their creditors. These days clubs either try and pay off say 10p in the £ and think that is acceptable or just go bust and come back and reform with no debts. For me this is wrong both in football and life in general especially when in a majority of cases there is a lot of money owed to HMRC which means effectively it is Joe Public paying for it.

As I have said before the new Windsor have broken no rules so difficult to hold it against them but you have to say it doesnt look good when the calibre of players playing for you do not come cheap.

I may moan a bit but whoever wins the league will go up with my best wishes be it Windsor, Guildford or whoever.

Krooner, thanks for your views which I understand and agree with myself. What annoys me is people assume that's what we tried to do as well and although it was explored as an option it became apparent that the only way we could do it was by paying every penny owed which is something we were prepared to work on but actually prevented from doing so by the person that owned the company that ran the club - we were absolutely powerless to stop one individual from wiping out 118 years of history on a whim despite a rescue package being offered and that's the bit that really hurts when people call us tax dodgers and the like out of ignorance and not knowing the truth.

With regards to the comments about the calibre of players not coming cheap I'm afraid you've fallen into the assumption trap again. Now I'm not for one minute even thinking about divulging the figures concerned but can assure anyone interested that

the players concerned are not on anything like they were with the previous club and in fact one of them has signed up and hasn't even discussed wages yet as he just wants to be back 'home' as he puts it.

.......just wants to be back home, that's Chennell then I presume ! This is a guy who's had trials for Brentford and Crawley, played Conference but loves Windsor so much, he's playing for nothing or little to nothing ? I have read Chennells comments verifying your comments when he turned down offers from higher placed clubs to be back where he belongs.....Windsor, to play and not sit on the bench elsewhere ! Let me inform you Sec that majority of the players are on + £100 including bonus and you as secretary probably know this.....!

Interesting comments Sec but please do not cover over the cracks about Windsor's budget. I appreciate you will not divulge the player and management budget, but to try and give the story that your players are not getting that well paid is boardering on lying, I just wish Windsor would be up front and stop leading posters on that the calibre of players at Windsor are playing for what £20-30-50.00 per week 'cos I know for a FACT that they are not !........
