Chalfont SP v Rebels

We are again light up front and SB is denying there's a problem. Instead of a back up forward we sign Chris Seeby, a good player but we don't need another defender/midfielder - we've got lots already.

Two things - nobody has said that he signed Seeby instead of a striker. Perhaps it's as well as and he's trying to bring one in? Second, despite our apparent riches in midfield, who wouldn't have signed Chris Seeby once he became available?

Well done to everyone ..we have to keep the faith ...

This result has been coming and its upto us to knuckle down all together and ensure this was only a blimp !

Nothing has been confirmed. All it was was some rumours based on a press interview.

EDIT: I daresay that if anyone had signed, it would have been announced on the website.

Also tweets on twitter from Jacko and some of the players indicated he was coming back.

Also we have two keepers. Jacko is back

Has this been confirmed? He played for Burnham yesterday!

My guess is that Burnham were missing their keeper for one reason or another and because Stone and SB are good friends the signing of Jacko has been delayed until Burnham have their keeper back.

Hopefully Ryan Bird will also come across!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the average age of our squad to that of Chalfont St Peter. The difference between Steve Bateman and Danny Edwards[Chalfont St Peter manager],both of whom I consider to be good managers at our level, is a vast difference in recruitment policy.

Steve Bateman brings in estabilished Non-League players and seems incapable of bringing through and mentoring young players.

Danny Edwards on the other hand has assembled a very young efficent side build over a couple of seasons, including our very own Kyle Jeffery, and don't seem to suffer the egotistical players we have.

Now there is no right or wrong way to win a league but going by yesterday's match, I would say the fine difference between the teams was pace. They had it in abundance,we didn't ! but I still believe we should have given them a far harder game.

As Cookham Rebel has said we sorely missed the energy of Danny Murphy and I'm still convinced we need a much younger fitter player in the centre of midfield.

Having said that I still think we can win the title with the squad we have except that we desperately need another striker.

We definitely need to recruit a forward who can hold the ball up, as we were abysmal at this yesterday.

I'm loath to say target man,as I know I will get shot at by some fans to mention this but with a target man in winter conditions we can adapt our passing style, which on a dreadful pitch like Chalfont's would have been the answer to our disappointing lack of chances on goal in the 2nd half.

Steve Bateman's lack of imaginative subsitutions, for me, killed the slim chance we had of getting anything out of the game in that 2nd period. Adam Logie was having an absolutely stinker in midfield and Ollie Burgess was never going to score, when he missed those two clear chances, you knew the writing was on the wall. I thought Bateman should have pushed Logie upfront and put Burgess back in the middle.People forget Adam Logie scored 9 goals last season with his feet and head.He couldn't have been any worse than Burgess up front. I thought we should then have replaced Burgess with either Swift or Seeby, rather than take off Chris Herron[who I know never played well] but is creative and can score goals.Thought Steve Perkins was having a very good game and didn't deserve to be replaced either.
