Bad luck guys. Disappointing not to get something out of this match, but it's not the end of the world. There's a long way to go, and plenty of points to play for. Let's bounce back, and get back to winning ways next Saturday against Thamesmead.

With Needham losing, and not scoring in two matches, the title race is the most interesting for years. We can bounce back next week. Many of the players looked jaded yesterday. Leiston were clearly up for it and gave us no time or space on the ball. In these circs we need fast players who can run away from the defenders not clever ball players. Our goal was scored as the massed defence from a corner impeded their goalie so Hope got the ball in an unmarked position and just had to blast the ball into the net.

 

It was interesting that our goal seemed to set up Leiston as they applied much more effort after that and pushed forward more. It seemed to me that they were more wary of us than we deserved and if they had played the same way before our goal as after could have scored 5 or 6.

 

Saying that we had a cold hard shout for a penalty turned down and why number 3 (and 6) were still on the pitch after the altercation I just dont know.
