When everyone is fit, we have great options, could this signing signal NBH going up front I wonder!

Perkins or Seeby as the central defender in a back 3 would work and would give us the NBH as a striker option!

 

 

Cookham, it's an option but a very limited one.

 

NBH would be useful up front at set pieces (like he is now) but as far as mobility, pace etc. I'm afraid a no goer.

 

I think we have the second best defensive record in the league so why change it at this present time?

 

We need another proper forward with pace etc that would give us an option with a different dimention.

 

Blimey, as I was typing that a vision of Charlie MPI came into my mind.

I agree RR, my mind is just in over drive at the moment, I know Bateman has said we don't need a 4th striker, but is there any of us that agree with him? After today, anyone would be hard pushed to agree I think... I see Charlie Mpi scored again today, I will be surprised if we don't sign another striker this week... When I saw Tony Mendy in the stand at half time, it did annoy me a bit!!!

thing is had Abbey not gone off injured we wouldnt be saying this so much but i did believe we needed someone incase and definitely we do now. if we dont have another striker we need to find a formation change of sorts to compensate only playing 1 up front if the lack of attackers situation ever comes up again during a match

 

problem is top quality strikers are not as easy to find especially during the season and there is no point getting just anybody in

What did surprise me yesterday is the decision to Burgess up front, when a team is controlling the midfield it is not wise to change it until half time or unless an injury occurs to one of those players! In hindsight, what a wonderful thing, Logie maybe should have been played as the emergency striker until half time or even the remainder of the match!

 

Would we have been better off switching to a 4-3-3??? As we only had the one striker???

 

Brown, NBH, Perkins, Woozley

 

Burgess, Logie, Coyne

 

Sinclair, Sonner, Herron

 

Please forgive me people, I'm just disappointed and like BR, I don't like losing!

Thought Dave Woozley played very well yesterday.I like Alex Brown's enthusiasm and the geeing up of players he gives out, which is an asset to the team. He made one or two very well timed tackles but for me I would prefer to see Sweeney or Seeby in that right back or right centre half role as they are far more mobile and can break out of defence in an offensive way which Brown can't.

I see Brown as cover/direct replacement for NBH and would have thought he would suit that position better.

 

I'm with you on this one Reading Rebel, I'm not convinced by Chris Seeby in midfield at all.I think he would make a brilliant sweeper,though,as he's definitely the most skilful defender we have with the exception of Danny Murphy, and I'm very glad to see him back.
