What i took from the game:

Did Guildford deserves 3 points? - Yes

Did the officals cost us 2 goals? - Yes

Would it of effected the outcome? - No

We didnt defend well enough against a team that IMO will win the league again, they play 4-2-4 and are confident that there defence is good enough to cope when teams attacking them, then break quickly with pace. I dont like Refs that shout at players and reply with a aggressive tone, but i doubt Refs enjoy players constant whining and abusing them either. Both teams were as bad as one another.

In games I have seen, you are correct Molly, their usual 2 wing backs/wide midfield players Gibbs and Moody do not back track but having 1-2 holding centre m/f they defend with 6-7 including the keeper and attack with 4-5 going forward. With their high line they sqeeze the midfield area so the 2 central are not suspect to too much space in between or around them. Defence like all are vulnerable but they are marshalled well, so opposing teams should think of ideas on how to beat their high line ? Camberley are very similiar........

I think Molly that ref's (who talk to each other) are being made aware of Guildford's antics, hence your comments. WEAK ref's will bow down to the constant intimidation of the Guildford's players that why it appears that decisions seem yp go Guildford's way. ...........Clever or not ?

Footy Mad, you did Guildford a couple of weeks ago. Would you care to comment on NG's last sentence please?

Banshee - Your profile says "supports Banstead" yet you were at the Guildford game? Scouting?

Observer 89 - We had a player sent off recently and he got a 3 game ban and a £50 fine!

My wife went to Epsom v Sutton in the SSC last night.

Just thumbed through the programme.

80 pages - in colour, tons to read, well laid out, minimal advertising and all for £2. How do EEFC afford to do this?

Great effort!

From the money they sold for their ground.............!

I think the pressure put on the referee last night by the Guildford players constantly berating him after any slight bit of contact - lead to him having a poor game. It's a shame as they are easily good enough to win games without influencing officials.

They probably deserved to win it, although maybe not 4-1. If the linesman infront of the Guildford bench wasn't so eager to give them a penalty when there was clearly no contact - it may have been a different story.

Guildford will win the league IMO. Hope they get promoted this year too as will be good to see if they can take the same arrogance in to the Ryman league or whether they will struggle not being the big fishes anymore. Very good side, but don't they just know it!

Usually players antics are led by the 'captain of the ship' in this case Raynor who is no angel when I've seen him and his team on quite a few occasions.

I think there is some Sour Grapes here on South Park's behalf, its no shame to get beat by Guildford as they are a good team....but why ? Can it be also put down to their antics as well as being good players ?

When will teams and people start listening, I have said so many times on this site that Guildford bully opponents and ref's by pressurising and surrounding him. I really would like to look at their disciplinary record, not the best I would suggest. They also intimidate the opposition, whind up players and get them sent off, then they play against 10 men ..............usually, if they don't get one of their own players following suit ! Clever or not ?

When will clubs realise and learn ! I for one hope they get promoted then thats 'The Spectrum' out of the way.......lol !

I be interested to know the "quite a few occasions" you've seen us play because the Captain of our ship is Simon Cooper, a position he has held for over 2 years now.

As to our disciplinary record see my post further up this thread at 1.17pm today.

A captain of the ship is the person who makes the decisions Jake, obviously not a seafaring person !

Over the last 3 seasons (this included) I have seen Guildford play about 11 times. The only visit to the Spectrum was losing to Leiston in the Vase last season, well I think it was ?

Good Post Molly :)

So if the ref had come in Milesy you would have sat away looking over generally grumbling over his decisions ? Not having a pop just putting in perspective how the referee would have felt if that happened. I maintain that match officials should take their refreshments in the main bar rather than the board room. Lets get dicsussions going between refs and players. I will name Mick Sullivan as quality at this. I spent an afternoon of him having plenty of things to say at me while I was in the middle. After the game we were in the bar discussing certain incidents. He would listen to my point of view and give his own and would even suggest why we differed. That is the best way forward.

Refreshments is an interesting thing. South Park are top notch with theirs and include the match officials. I have officiated at grounds that give the players hot food and the match officials a plate of sandwiches. Respectful ?

Ref - G Collins

Asst Refs - P Maskell & A Hudson

All way out of their depth

Was this not the same Referee who got assaulted at Guildford last year. Why did he allow a sent off player,to climb over the railings amongst spectators, rather than walking straight across the pitch to the changing rooms. Will he be fined for not attending post match,Croydon Municipal where at Farnham 2 years ago.

To be honest, why the hell is this referee in charge of a Guildford game so soon after last seasons assault ! I would be interested if the referee secretary asked if he felt okay with officiating the game ?

Now lets be honest, after last season's incident which would still be very clear in the ref's mind, this creates unnecessary pressure applied on him especially when Guildford players barrack him, bet he was shi*less....... poor fella !

I may be in the minority but I never ask other officials what they know about clubs that I am to referee. I will speak to my assistants prior to the game and at that point we will share experiences that we have had that may assist us.

I am aware that some referees ask around and perhaps this helps them in their preparation for a game.

Personally I feel that if there has been anything major between clubs then I would probably have heard about it but otherwise I referee what is put in front of me. I would like to think that any decisions I give are based on what I believe rather than any advice I get from players and managers

Let it go chaps!!!

City are buy far the best team in the league! We all know that.

Defending champions that will NOT be denied 2nd time around and WILL go up!

Can we really see anyone catching up?

Do what has to be done (within the rules)to get the result done!

Good enough for Sir Alex, good enough for Kev!

All are invited to watch the mauling of Mole Valley on Sat,without the help of officials!!

Match prediction at least 7-0,surely??

It just seems everyone(well most) are getting on the City bandwagon of putting the squad down for "dodgy antics?"

When its the actual football that wins games!!

Wih regard to the naming of officials, as Mewie quite rightly stated, (as usual), there is no secrecy.

Anyone with a copy of the League hand-book and access to the twice weekly League bulletins can check on who their officials are/were. Even late amendments are included, thanks to Whitelaw.

Not to mention details are on the Leagues Official Website

Take it from me NG you misguided moron, if the club had any money we'd be taking legal advice following comments like that insulting our club's integrity.

Why can't any of the moderators on this site do something about this cretin? People like NG are putting people off from using this site which would benefit from their insight. Instead this know-nothing retard spouts his usual anonymous rubbish and people just put up with it, or in many cases just walk away.

To answer Chris's sensible observation, thanks for the compliment. In addition to the other five conributors time it took me personally 26 hours to create the programme.

We obviously have no ground, so it is more important for us even than for other clubs to raise our club profile through our website and programme, which I and others try very hard to achieve. I also have a brief for how much we can spend on the programme. Regrettably we can't produce a full colour issue, (as we can only afford a colour cover, first and last page and adverts page near the centre), and Tuesday's one would have cost us about £1.20 to produce per programme, but as black and white is not too expensive we can fill it with info, and the 80 page Sutton programme was 16 pages larger than any previously produced by the club, with just 3 pages of adverts inside. We did a full colour one a couple of years ago, (ironically for a Colliers Wood game) but it was only 36 pages and cost far too much, so I was told off about that :)

This means that we need to sell all of the ones we produce to break even, although I can often get some left overs out to dealers. Fortunately, word has travelled, so we do get a few enquiries and last season we would have broken even if not for three short notice postponements where we had already printed the programmes.

If anyone is interested in purchasing one or more of Tuesday's issue, please contact me here or through our website. Probably better to do the latter though as I don't come on here so often because the site is spoilt in my opinion by the coward with the inappropriate name.

Just to answer another point on here, the worst referee we had this season was also Mr Collins. He sent two of our players off at Dorking and was frankly awful from start to finish. Worse than that, he was totally unapproachable, and as said earlier here, makes a mockery of the Respect campaign by doing this. However, Paul Maskell is an experienced Assistant and we know him well at Epsom. I wouldn't say that he was out of his depth, although I accept that Assistants get tarred with the same brush when the main official is poor. I would imagine that was probably the case here.

Quote from Mark Frake at Sutton United FC.

"Finally, what a fantastic effort by Richard Lambert to produce a programme of that quality & content. Best prog I've seen in some years."

That is some compliment given SUFC's recent programme awards!

We are looking to upgrade our own programme (and a new website) for the 2011/12 season but I reckon E & E have set a high benchmark.

I have seen some other good programmes in the CCL this season though!

Think again E&E ! My comment was meant as an honest one, that by selling your ground you had enough money in the bank which helps pay towards the production of your programme. What the hell is wrong with that ? Isn't true then, or is it with the money you get thru' the gate? Pray please tell me !

Take it from me NG you misguided moron, if the club had any money we'd be taking legal advice following comments like that insulting our club's integrity. Misguided Moron eh, stick & stones but E&E be careful, I could do exactly actually the same if I had enough money for libel, slander as defamation of character.......all this legal nonsence is it meant to scare me behave Rumpole.......lol !

Interesting highlights N.G.,you forgot 'THE COWARD WITH THE INAPROPRIATE NAME' I will take that as read then,as you have not objected to this part of the statement.Would you like to refute this by naming yourself on this Forum,as you have the edge over most of us other posters.
