Could Grays be playing in Romford???/

Have heard that Grays will definatly be playing at Rush Green next season and then on land in thurrock the year after,that will be there new ground,if ready in time.

Very strange situation that 7 senior clubs will be playing senior football nearer Romford than Romford actually do,

 

AFC Hornchurch

Grays ath

Dagenham

Redbridge

Barkingside

Barking

Ilford

 

Apologies if i have missed any teams out.

You missed Ilford Catholic off the list they are a more senior club than RFC.

 

TBH I am surprised Grays will be playing at RG albeit for just one season. Could give the opportunity for RFC to play there in the future as the Westlands development really is a long way off.

I don't think Romford could afford the rent! I can see another club moving in there in the next 2-3 years that might surprise everyone

I can't believe that with all the space there that west ham didn't try to get a new build on the land

Something's in the melting pot I'm sure. WHU had plans to have a state of the art training and centre of excellence there.

 

My view is that they will offer it as a joint venture with D&R to share in costs and act as a feeder club for the youngsters.

 

Just a thought that they could arrange a tie up with nomads Leyton Orient on the same basis and to be a sweetener for the Olympic Stadium debacle. Thoughts?

Talking of mergers I hear that Cambridge United are thinking of merging with troubled Northampton Town. Only hold up is what they will be called. Someone suggested that they use their club initials. Boom boom.
