Whilst Dean Pooley scored the winner on Saturday & was awarded M.O.T.M for it, together with a second half performance he could be proud of he was rather given the run around in the first half & yes, being new to that position that has to be taken into account as he was probably adjusting to that spot.He certainly improved after the break.

Overland,on a couple of occasions could have advanced and shut down the oncoming defender rather than staying put on his line. The first was their goal & the second their dissallowed goal for offside.Punched well when under pressure & generally had an ok game. One such punch though he could have caught having not been under any pressure but otherwise did fine when called upon

Ball, once again magnificent in the air.Seems to be getting caught out a lot though with sprayed passes out to the winger & has to back track very quickly to try & close the man down. His long punts down field are annoying me now but on certain occasions a big hoof downfield HAS to be made I accept that.Just seems he is doing this now rather too often for my liking that's all.

Cloke, again pretty secure again though does tend to give away a few unecessary free kicks, mainly because he is a split second slower to the ball than his opponent.

Corneille,a quiet game by his standards but did ok.

Stubbs I thought seemed very subdued for most of the game, gave away the ball which lead to their goal & was generally lacking on the day.Was surprised he wasn't substituted early in the game. He's much better than that.

Bodkin. The only player trying to take the ball down,to control it & to use if fully.Again an asset to the side without on the day firing on all cylinders.

Avery I thought was poorer than he has been of late though does run a lot & intercepted some good passes. His own passes on the day were somewhat misdirected though.

Appiah, once again showing plenty of dash & was problably marked out of the game, however one through ball in the first half ball over their defence gave him a simple opportunity to lob the keeper who had come off his line but without looking up decided to run with the ball & was consequently dispossessed.A good chance lost there. Near the close was extremely unlucky not to be on the scoresheet by the interception of the year i.m.o. by a defender who had no right to have got there to do that. However he did & it was a magnificent block. Appiah always a threat though with his pace & determination to get in a shot whenever possible.

Robinson, again helpful up front but not on this occasion geting those headers in,apart from the odd one or two.Got bowled over a few times & took a few knocks & had to be replaced.Worth keeping up front though as he gives us some "bite" & takes the physical challenges to give others room to create chances..

Over the entire 90 minutes though I thought John Beales was quiet but very affective & the more consistent so my vote goes to him on his occasion.

**The above are my opinions only & I accept that they may not be agreed upon by others but thats how I saw things, through my eyes on the day**

Correction: Robinson wasn't substituted, though because of the numerous physical challenges he received,at one time it looked like he was going to be replaced. He deserves extra praise in that case for soldiering on.
